Need help with grandson

My grandson is 6 months old and weighs 11 lbs.  Since birth he has done a lot of spitting up and then it turned to projecting his milk back within a 5 to 10 minutes after eating.  He was hospitalized close to home for a few days and they seem to think acid reflux and sends him home with 2 medications.  After a few days it continued to get worse.  My stepson and wife have taken him to Children's Healthcare at Egleston.  He has been there almost 2 weeks and they still don't know what is wrong.  All types of medication, still throws up, went to a feeding tube and IV.  Probe run down his throat to his stomach and they say it is normal that he doesn't have acid reflux.  Doctors don't know what it is.  THey are going to run a camera down into his stomach and leave it for 24 hours and see what happens when he eats.  His head and heart are larger and right for his age but his body is small.  They say what nutrients that he retains goes to the heart and brain first.  He has been on an IV of potassium choride for a week and 1/2 now.  Has anyone else experienced this?

Sounds like he is in the right place.  I am sorry, I have nothing more to offer, just keep thinking positive.  I am sure that they will figure out what is going on with him.  What a lucky boy he is to have such a caring grandma!

I am assuming that the doctors have tried different types of milk? It sounds like an allergy to me....the other possibility is of course digestive problems. Is he on solids? Maybe time to move onto solids and off the milk? Best of luck, sorry I couldnt be more help.

Ashton hasn't been able to keep any thing down.  They have tried every formula even one that you can only get from a pharmacy that is $60 a can.  They have been giving him baby food.  I have never seen anything like this and I have been around a lot of kids.  What is strange is that the probe they put down to his stomach to check for reflux came back normal.
