Negative Quantitive Hcg

Negative Quantitive Hcg

Hi, I have been trying to get pregnant for some time now and I was certain this time I was. On the 28th of February I ovulated. My husband and I had sex the days prior to that day and after. On the 10th of March I went to the doctor and had a quantitive blood test done. The results came back negative today, the12th. BUT i've been reading online and it says that hcg levels would not be present in the bloodstream until 10 days after conception. Was it still too early to test? Could I still be pregnant? I'm expecting my period in two days on the 14th.

If the blood test was taken four days before your missed period (on the 10th and you are due on the 14th) it should be accurate, especially if they gave you the quantitative (which measures exact amounts of hcg) and not the qualitative (which is only a yes or no).
