Negative hpt could it be wrong?

I posted yesterday about possibly being pregnant and many people commented and suggested i get a hpt.  My bf got me one last night and when I took it this morning it was clearly a negative.  I'm confused and kind of wondering what is wrong with me.  My periods are usually every 28 days until this last month when I had 2 within 3 weeks.  I was supposed to start on the 1st of November and I still haven't.  My bf suggested that I wait a week and take another hpt but I don't see how that will change anything.  It's not like it was too early to take one.  I don't have money right now to go to the doctor so if I got it will have to wait until next week.

Oh yea! You are late. And you said your test was Negative. Well, you are probably not PG then. Have you been stressed out lately? Being stressed can be a big cause of being late.

Sometimes the HPT is always accurate and you could have a false negative, but the best way to find out is to get a blood test done.
Maybe you should go see your dr.

Yeah stressed but not very much more than normal.  I took a hpt last month when I had two per. in 3 weeks and it was neg too.

I say it all depends on the test you used, I did the same thing with an early result test and finally tested positive the 1st day i missed my period and negative the day i was to get it, I guess what i'm saying is that some test like the early result/1st response early result test at 25 hcg level while other brands that say to test as soon as you missed your period test at 40-50 hcg. My point is I ovlated late, I know I did and that is why the test didn't show positive until later, so I'd try again in a week, it is very possible you are pregnant!

I was over 2 weeks late when I tested with hpt, and I got a Neg....then the next week I tested and got Positive..twice...so it can happen...GOOD LUCK! I hope you get what you want!!

I'm in the same boat, af should have arrive dec.3rd & still nothing. I took a hpt this morning & it's negative. Let us know how it goes for you, I'd be really interested to hear what happens!
