Newborn Umbilical cord question... This is bad please help

OK My son will be 2 weeks tomorrow, the worst thing just happend I was taking him to change him and had him laying against my chest all I had on was my nursing bra, no shirt as I went to lay him on the changing table his cord stump popped off, it caught on my bra... He didn't really cry kinda a whimper that's it, it isn't bleeding but it is a bit of pus under it, it's been 2 weeks, did I hurt it by this happening? Should I take him to the ER... He is being fussy but I don't know if it's just fussy or if it's hurting him... I don't know what to do, I called and left a message for a nurse to call me but I have not heard back from her yet, has this happened to anyone before?

If I remember right (It's been 10 years since I had a newborn) around 14 days it comes off anyway.  Just clean it the same way you have been all this time and it should be alright as long as it isn't bleeding.

I'm pregnant with my #3, but with my first two, after theirs came off, it was a little red, ***** and irritated.  Just continue cleaning it as regular until it looks better.  You can try  neosporan (sp?) too.  Give it a week or so, if it doesn't get better, then you can call your dr, but this is normal.

My 1st dd's fell off at 10 days, and my 2nd dd's fell off at 13 days. The yellowy puss looking stuff behind it is totally normal and not actually pus (unless it is greenish or oozy). Continue to put alcohol on it every time you change him, and it will dry out. It takes a few weeks for it to look like a regular belly button. You didn't hurt him, and this is totally normal. Better safe than sorry though. It's okay to ask.

if you are concerned take him to the doctor and they will tell you if you need to worry the same thing happend to my ds and i took him to the doctor and they had to put some medication on it that i think freezes it so it heals better. its called silver nitrate

With both of mine, they fell off around 10-14 days.  It most likely would not have been pulled off if it wasn't close to ready.  I wouldn't be concerned.  As long as it is not actively bleeding, your fine.

keep puting the alcohol on it to dry it up, your baby is fine!

It's most likely fine.  Two weeks is more than enough time for it to fall off so it was probably going to fall off in a day or two.  Just keep cleaning it and make sure there is no foul odor coming from there.  My DD's fell off when she was 5 days old.  Now, that was scary b/c it didn't really heal properly and yet it fell on its own.

My DD had the yellowinsh thing oozing out too. Her cord fell on the 9th day ( it is a bit late for it to fall according to my mom and other elders here!!) and did not heal completlt till 28-30 days , ie; untill she was a month old.
All I was asked to do was keep the area dry, clean it with a cotton swab dipped in spirit and put a small crystal of common salt after that.

I was worried too. As others have said above, do not worry if there is no greenish or foul smelling discharge.
