Newborn sleeping cycle

Hello everybody!I just gave a birth to a baby boy on December 28th.Its a first one.I was expecting to see him sleeping for 2 hours or so.But oh boy its so far away from the truth. He is alert most of the time and i am breastfeeding him almost every 30 min if not more often.he is only fallow sleep if i leave him skin to skin after the feeding. Its  just awfull,as soon as i put him to crib he wakes up again and its all over.I had a normal delivery and we both doing fine.My midwife says that there is nthg ubnormal with that, but iam worried.I cant get him to crib so ending up passing out with in my arms, thats the only way he would sleep.wich is probably not good but i dont know what else to do.Does anybody had a sim situation,I mean will it go away? When they sup to start to sleep better?Thanx

My daughter is 3.5 months and she would NOT sleep in her crib.  She still doesn't!  We used to have to have her fall asleep on one of us then hope that she will stay sleeping in her crib, but she wouldn't.  Finally we would put her in her swing, then she would sleep.  She still sleeps in her swing every night.  It keeps her more cuddled up, where as in the crib she was free to swing her arms and legs, waking herself up.  The motion of the swing probably helps her sleep as well.  I know it might not be the best thing in the long run, but it helps her and us sleep!  So until she can have a blanket in her bed I guess we'll use the swing.

My DD had reflux so sleeping on her back was painful.  Does your DS show signs or symptoms of that?  It's very common.  She slept in a bouncy seat for 3 months.  At 6 weeks I transfered her in her bouncy into the crib!  Once she started rolling over at 3 months we had to take her out of it.  We would go in her room and she rolled over while swaddled and in her bouncy chair!  She is an active booger...We then did sleep training at 4 mo.  She has been a great sleeper ever since.  I think she ate every 2 hours until she was 8 wks.  She was preemie though.  I REMEMBER HOW HORRIBLE THE SLEEP DEPRIVATION GOT!  I hope you have some help.  It's very exhausting!  I feel for you!

My daughter was also preemie.  I think you should try a seat or swing, something that keeps your son a little upright, it might help him feel more comfortable.
