No maternity coverage

No maternity coverage

My health insurance coverage does not include maternity coverage. I think I may be pregnant (very early stages) but have not seen a doctor yet. My insurance provider (or any for that matter) will not add maternity coverage if already pregnant. I went ahead and applied for the coverage. After the new coverage is activated and when I go to the doctor......if I am told I am pregnant, will my insurance provider cancel my coverage?

If you are pregnant now usually doctors have to fill out a pregnancy form for your insurance companies and they put the due date on..if doesn't seem right they might cancel it. Some states have laws that prevent it so you might want to check into it..but it can be considered a pre-existing condition. I wouldn't do that because if you are caught you could be charged for insurance fraud or have to pay them what they paid on your behalf if they find out

Can't be fraud if I don't even know If I'm pregnant or not. I'm not worried about that. I'm not trying to scam anybody. After all, I have not taken any tests. It's more of a paranoid suspicion due to some recent symptoms. I'm just wondering how likely it is that I get cancelled if I was pregnant before applying but without knowledge. Hopefully I am just paranoid and I am not pregnant at all.
