DD will be 10 months in 5 days. She absolutely hates to wear anything on her feet (other than socks). What do I do so that she feels comfortable with shoes?
I'm not so sure I would worry about it yet. I think it was in the Dr. office waiting room I was reading an article that said that they do not need shoes at this age and that bare feet were the best thing for them at this age, crawling, balance/walking. I only put sandals on dd when going to church . Resaurants I put socks on in case it is cold/or shopping.
Peds now suggest that kids don't need to wear hard soled shoes until age 1 or shortly after. BUT my SIL did this with my nephew and when he finally started wearing shoes at 13 months....he couldn't balance because he was used to being barefoot. The extraExtra strength mylanta calci tabs Extra strength pain relief weight made him fall right over. It was funny...but kinda sadDepression. lol
my ds is same age and no shoes!! i am luck i can get clothes on him!! he loves the nude. haha. i am not worried about shoes until it gets cooler and when he starts walking. i think she is ok for now. yeah, are you prego yet or did the cramps turn into af???
When mine were small I found letting them pick out an inexpensive pair of sandals helped with this, or if they still have them... the ones that light up are a big hit even with the younger "crowd".
Doll, I was just gonna post looking for you. I haven't seen you around. How are you doing? AF is due tomorrow so we'll see :)
Kelly-no, not yet. I passed by a bunch of pharmacies today and I was soooo tempted to go in and get the test but forced myself to pass by them and not go in. I'll wait till tomorrow to test (wouldn't it be too early to test today anyway?)
DD absolutely loves when she's naked also. They all do (LOL). The backacheBackache relief extra strength turned out to be just my bad back aching from rocking DD to sleep. It was pretty intense so I was thinking that I was getting AF. No signs of it as of yet. So tempted to test. I'm afraid I won't last until tomorrow (tickTick removal, tock, tickTick removal, tock :))
Mine wore Robeez as well - you can order them online or places like CartersCarters little pills makes similar ones...not quite as nice though in my opinion. It was still hard when she had to start wearing real shoes though. She hated them and would just stand there and cry - she refused to take even one step. So we just gradually increased how long she would wear them each day. Eventually she forgot why she hated them and started to walk in them, like it was no big deal. Peer pressure helps too. If she's in daycare, point out how the other kids are wearing shoes, etc.
DD's not in daycare. I'm off for the summer so she's home with me. I can talk to her about shoes until I'm blue in the face and how mommy and daddy's wearing them, she couldn't care less. If she doesn't want to do something, she just WILL NOT do it. Yep, she's very...stubborn.
Sounds just like my dd...unfortunately I must admit she gets her stubborness from me :) Try the Robeez - they are kind of a cross between real shoes and socks...and are really cute!
i bet since it is summer she prefers no shoes. hopefully as fall/winter comes she will be more accepting of shoes, she will also be at that 1yr mark. right now my ds wears sandals when we go out and barefoot when at home. last night i tried to get him to put socks on to no avail. i guess his "piggies" have to breathe.
For Ariella, maybe you can make a shoes fairy story.
