Normal Hcg but possible ectopic?

Normal Hcg but possible ectopic?

I've been going to the doctors for a week now since I found out I was pregnant (at four weeks).  I had spotting the first day and then it went away, but I called the doctors and they immediately did an ultrasound and found nothing.  They were convinced it was ectopic then, but it makes no damn sense to me.  My hcg levels were at 168 then they doubled normally until they got up to 4,899 a week later.  They did another ultrasound a week later which was yesterday.  I was supposed to be five weeks and one day.  All they saw was a gestational sac that they think could be a pseudosac.  I have no syptoms (symptoms) of an ectopic but the doctors told me they suspected I had one, because they should be able to see more then what they were seeing on the US.  They checked my tubes and found nothing either.  After the dr spending an hour of trying to convince me that I either have a bligted ovum or an ectopic, I finally got the methotroxate shot.  I feel like I was wrongly diagnosed, I had no symptoms and there stories kept changing on what they thought I had.  Has anyone else been through this??  I had the shot yesterday and all I feel is tired.  If I had a tubal pregnancy, shouldn't they have been able to see something in there instead of just going off a hunch and possibly killing my perfectly normal child??

Did they say why they were sure it was a pseudosac?

No they didn't.  None of them were on the same page and they all told me conflicting things.  I just have a feeling I took that shot and had an abortion unknowingly.  I had absolutely no symptoms of an ectopic.  My first US showed nothing and the next one a week later showed a little more.  First the doctor told me it was a gestational sac but then changed her mind when my hcg levels came back at almost 5000. She called me and told me I needed too come to the doctors office immediately, because she suspected I have an ectopic pregnancy.  I had the shot on friday and still feel nothing!

I think in your shoes, I would discuss this with the doc who told you to come to the office immediately, etc. etc. and find out her reasoning.  I'd do this in person rather than try to do it by phone.  Doctors don't usually demand you have methotrexate immediately on only vague diagnosis, she probably had something very specific in mind.  Do you have another hCG blood draw scheduled?
