Normal?? Or NOT?? STRESSEDD!!

Okay so I have a 9 month old baby girl, and as you can imagine, it is alot of work, so my husband I are definately not ready for another child for a while. I am on the birth controll loestrine 24 fe and we also use condoms, but there have a few (like 1-2) times where we have not used condoms, but I have never missed a pill or had to double-up. I ALWAYS have took my pill on time, give or take 10-15 minutes. I have been on the pill for four months now and I ALWAYS start my period when I start the brown "reminder" pills. Well, it is now 7 days before I start the brown pill, but I have noticed an odd brown stringy discharge when I wipe and there have been dark brown stains in my underwear. like not just a little but about a quarter size or maybe a little larger stains. This has never happenned to me before and I am quite worried. I dont really think its pregnancy, but I am very worried because of how bizare this is. Thank you everyone.

Hi! Sometimes use of oral contraceptive for long can decrease the periods to just trickles or brownish discharges. To be on safe side take a blood pregnancy test to measure your blood HCG levels. If the test is negative then you are not pregnant. If it is borderline, repeat after a week to see if the levels are rising. Rising levels indicate pregnancy. If this too is negative then other causes of delayed or missed periods will have to be looked at such as stress whether emotional or physical, hypothyroidism, polycystic disease of the ovary, pituitary tumors secreting prolactin, anemia and poor diet, hormonal imbalance, unexplained or sudden weight gain or weight loss. You will need to consult a gynecologist for this. Take care!
