Normal heart rate at 8 weeks

Normal heart rate at 8 weeks

Hi.  I was just wondering if someone could give me a straight answer on whether or not to be concerned.  Last week the baby measured at 7 weeks even and the heart rate was 145. This week my baby is measuring 8 weeks even, and the heart rate is 197. That is the highest heart rate I have ever heard of either from personal experience, friends, or even online. I have seen there is a correlation to chromosomal disorders with high or low fetal Heart rate, but no one gives the numbers as to what is considered too high.

The baby has grown well, but has consistently been measuring 6 days younger than the docs expected based on LMP.  I am not particularly concerned about the GA because the baby has grown proportionally.  My doctor has just started checking progesterone levels (athough they were never done in my last two pregnancies which turned out fine)  but we have been struggling with progesterone supplements to get the progesterone levels up.  They went from 23.3 to 14,1 and have been under control since I started the suplements.  The doc was worried that my hCG levels were not what they expected them to be...last count at 6 weeks was 9270. I know every pregnancy is different -  progesterone levels can fluctuate wildly and are not reliable, hCG levels can vary from about 7, 000-250,000 at this stage for different women, and we have no comparison of what my body did for my other pregnancies.  I feel like all this worry is silly b/c I am having no spotting, no cramping, and no loss of pregnancy symptoms such as appetite or breast fullness or morning sickness.  The office said nothing about the heart rate being too high, but no doctor was there, just a tech.  Am I in denial?

I thought it was kind of high for a minute but googled it.  The article said "by week nine your babies heart rate will reach between 155-195 bpm.  I bet if there was concern they would have let you know. That tech probably takes fhr a million times a week and would let you know if it was not right. If you have a question, call your Dr. and leave a message about  your concerns.  Good luck

Thanks for responding so quickly, I feel a little better. I am technically at week 8, but I guess it is not a perfect science :).  I did leave a message for the NP.  They still haven't gotten back to me, but they have hours until 10 pm tonight. Luck to you too, thanks again!

AND, I just read that the hb will slow down to 120-160 around week 12. SO, you sit back and relax :0)
