Nothing on ultrasound, still too early??

I found out I was pregnant on september 30, i went to the er because of ovary pain and found out i was pregnant. they did an ultrasound and couldn't see anything but a thickenend endometrium, but checked my hcg levels they were at 585.  They thought i was just really early, since i only get periods a few times a year, we had nothing to go by, my last period was in june.  well 36 hours later checked my hcg and it was at 1000, so the doctor at the er just said to make an appt with an ob and go from there.  My appointement is scheduled for the 19th.  My friend is an ultrasound tech and on friday gave me an ultrasound just for fun, without an order or anything.  well since it had been two weeks we thought we should see SOMETHING.  the only thing that was there was a endometrium sac, no yolk sac, no anything else...could it just be really early, or do you think it might be a blighted ovum (I'd never heard of that before reading all the posts here).  any thoughts would be great, i know that thursday maybe the doctor could tell me more, but am really anxious.  Thanks so much in advace...  :o)

Was this ultrasound two weeks after you got your hcg level of 1000 back?

I don't think they even try to see anything via u/s until your levels are at least 2000.  It's probably just too early.

I would say its just too early to tell.  I was 6W 2D when I went for my first one and we saw a blob and a hb.  GOOD LUCK!!  Just try to relax!!

Yes, the ultrasound was two weeks after my 1000 hcg level, that's why I was worried...thanks

Two weeks after your HCG was at 1,000 should put your HCG well over 12,000.  I too was having problems in the beginning of my pregnancy and they did HCG levels every other day for two weeks and then sent me back for an ultra-sound.  My first ultrasound with an HCG at about 700 showed nothing but swelling.  After the two weeks the baby was there.  Just a few cells but it could be seen.

I suggest you demand a HCG Series just to put your mind at ease.  If those levels double ever couple of days your baby is healthy and growing.

You could just be to early...sounds like you are about 6wks.

You should see something once your HCG level reaches 2000.  Good luck, many blessings your way
