Nursing Bras / Pads / Lily Pads

Hello everyone!  I am 34 weeks pregnant and have been looking at nursing bras lately and am getting very frustrated!  I have a latex allergy, so there seems to be very little out there to choose from.  I ran across something called "Lilly Pads".  I will just cut and paste the company's description (and the link where I found them in case anyone is interested) at the bottom of this message.  What I'm wondering is if anyone has used them.  I can't imagine wearing them in place of a bra, but I'm getting desperate...

LilyPadz is the only nonabsorbent breathable nursing pad that adheres and conforms to your breast! It is paper-thin and is absolutely invisible under clothing. Now you can swim with confidence, sleep braless, and wear tighter fitting shirts without worrying about leakage.

LilyPadz are made of a special latex-free, ultra thin, flexible, breathable material that adheres directly to your skin. Press the center of the LilyPadz onto the nipple and smooth out over your breast. Just lift off LilyPadz to nurse your baby and re-apply after feeding. Wash with mild soap and water and air-dry.

Lily Padz Reuseable Nursing Pads are a patented, innovative nursing pad made of a skin-like layer of silicone. The unique design of LilyPadz maintains pressure on the nipple while in place and forms a non-absorbent barrier that actually PREVENTS breast milk leakage. No more inconvenient pad exchanges, and both you and your clothes stay dry! LilyPadz Silicone Nursing Padz provide the kind of protection every expectant and nursing mother needs The special soft flexible and non absorbent silicone the same material in most baby bottle nipples conforms to your breast for a secure fit.

I didn't think the nursing pads I used had latex in them.  Any kind of nursing pad should be pretty much akin to the material they use for menstrual pads or disposable diapers, and really it doesn't seem like latex is an issue there, but I'll admit I didn't research it.  My main thing I looked for was that the pads were rounded, rather than flat, because folding them like a little cone around the breast was inconvenient and looked odd under a bra.

As for nursing bras, I did have some with flaps to open, and liked them OK, but finally just went with a stretchy running bra that I got online.  It was flexible and really easy.  If you have  normal bra brand that you can wear (in other words, latex free) you might check into getting one that's bigger and just using it, especially if they make one for running.

I have nursing bras from Motherhood Maternit - not sure about latex though. As far as the pads go - there are TONs of choice out there. I've had to play around and find what works for me. Good luck.

Now I haven't used lily padz personally as I did not know about them with my last child,  but we do sell them in the store I work in and just yesterday I had a customer raving about them; saying she was able to sleep without a bra on because they do not slip.
I just used johnsons nursing pads and a nursing bra from thyme maternity but I had to change the pads frequently as I leaked alot in the first four months. Should I have another child I would give the lily padz a try.

The only thing I wonder about a stick-on product is that I wore a bra because I needed the support -- there is a lot of weight in a milk-filled breast that isn't there at other times, and it pulls the breast down and it hurts.  Sticking something on would absorb any leaks, but it's hard to tell from the description if it would really provide support for a heavy breast.

Lili padz don't actually absorb anything, I don't know how but they actually prevent you from leaking! But you are right Annie I had to wear my bra day and night for support.

I used these nursing pads that I got from Motherhood maternity and you could just wash them over and over, so I got a few pairs and they were very inexpensive. I used those with my second rather then the stick on kind b/c those got to be expensive over time. I never had a problem leaking with them.
As far as bras go, I hate trying to find one. I am in the process of looking for one now, as I just threw away the one I had from my previous pregnancies about two years ago b/c I thought I was finished and not going to have anymore. I just used the pads I got from Motherhood to use in my regular bra after awhile and they worked great.
I will have to look into the one you listed above as I have never heard of that one.
I also would wear my bra during the day and night, although I did have one for both...the one at night was more comfortable.

And now that I looked up the product I used I see the one your talking about which is pretty much the same! I will have to look into those for myself;)
