OPK-How dark is dark enough?

Today when I used my OPK, the test line, from a distance of about a foot and a half from my face, looked the exact same color as the control line.  Looking closer (closer to my face), the test line looked very slightly lighter.  Is this a positive OPK?  I've never had luck using those things, so I don't have another postive test to compare it to.  Does anyone have any thoughts?

Anytime I get a + OPK, the test line is darker than the control line, so there is no question. But I have heard that OPK's don't work for everyone.

Thanks.  I'm charting my BBT too, so I guess I'll know for sure in a few days when my temp. changes or doesn't.

I charted my bbt along with using opk's and sometimes I would ovulate and would never get a full + opk. I think it just depends on when you test. If you get an opk that looks real close to positive and then the next they start getting lighter I would count that as positive.

If the OPK you purchased is a 7 week pack what you are looking for is a dark purple line the lighter lines dhow there is a very small amount of the ovulation hormone and can be slightly fertile but not yet ovulationg the darker the line the closer to OV .3 days prior to ov and up to two days after you get the lighter lines so you need to chart and test through the  day window.

Thanks for the info.  Answer is the brand OPK I use, too.  The problem is, yesterday the test line was just about as dark as the control line, but today the test line was barely visible.  I guess I'll just have to keep watching my BBT to find out for sure.
