Oh no, did the Clomid cause me NOT to ovulate? Wisdom needed :-0)

Hi girls...question for those of you that have taken clomid..I'm on it this month as my RE did the Clomid challenge test..I took it days 5-9 and now it's day 16 and still no ovulation.  I normally ovulate on CD 16 and I get a bad cramp when I ovulate so I always know when it's happening.  The fertility monitor is still hasn't show "peak" fertility yet. Could the clomid actually have caused me NOT to ovulate or could clomid make me ovulate late?? Now I'm so bummed that taking it ruined our chances this month :-(  Help...

Keep testing. I hae been told that clomid may delay ovulation.

Yes, it is common to ovulate later than normal when taking clomid.  Hang in there.

I too am wondering when I will ovulate. I finished clomid on cd9 and am now on cd18. No positive on OPK and little creamy lotion-like cm. I have however, had pains in what I assume is my ovary area and lower back. I may have missed my surge on the OPK. I have just bd'd anyway, just in case.

I just finished my first round of Clomid on CD7 and now I'm on CD13, no positive OPK yet, but I know it hasn't been too long.  I read on some website that on Clomid... ovulation can occur anywhere between 5 and 12 days after your last Clomid dose.  So, if you ended on CD9, ovulation usually occurs between CD14 and CD21 or a last dose on CD7.. between CD12 and CD19, so hang in there and why not keep BD'ing anyway! : )

I still haven't and I'm on CD20!  The only thing that I can think of is that I'm using the fertility monitor and it says that you may not see an LH surge on the monitor (or OPK's) due to the high levels of estrogen from the clomid.  Maybe we ovulated and didn't know it?  I can't imagine that clomid causes us "not" to ovulate?

I use the clear blue easy monitor and never get a peak symbol when I take clomid.  The months that I don't take it I get my peak symbol.  Can anyone explain?  Grrrrr its so frustrating trying to have another baby.

I have taken 2 cycles of Clomid- my first being 50mg starting day for 3 days (no ovulation) I have PCOS and had 45+ mini follicles.

Next cycle was 150mg starting day 3 for 5 days. I had no ovulation as of day 19 when I had us check. Dr advised me probably won't happen as follicle was only a 9 in diameter.  Said I could take Provera to induce.

Started provera on day 23 and on day 25 I got a positive ovulation test.  I had tests left over and thought what they heck, I feel like something is going on let's take one. Went in day 26 for IUI and now waiting for the answer.

My positive test was short lived and only lasted for a few hours- I was concerned that it was a mistake but NP stated, " I looked very fertile" when she was doing my IUI.

SO I know waiting is soooo difficult but trust your instincts ladies- keep track of your cervix feel and location and keep testing if you can afford it.  I use 2 different tests, the clearblue digital and answer dip sticks.  I got a positive on one and a negative on the other (with the same urine) and then a few hours later the same thing again but swapped the following time I tested.

I know this can be expensive!  But so is fertility treatment and if that means you can possibly conceive that month and not have to wait for another cycle, then I say spend a little more money testing with some more sticks. :)

Good luck
