Oh no, did the Clomid cause me NOT to ovulate? Wisdom needed :-0)

by dainsey, Dec 20, 2006 12:00AM
Hi girls...question for those of you that have taken clomid..I'm on it this month as my RE did the Clomid challenge test..I took it days 5-9 and now it's day 16 and still no ovulation.  I normally ovulate on CD 16 and I get a bad cramp when I ovulate so I always know when it's happening.  The fertility monitor is still hasn't show "peak" fertility yet. Could the clomid actually have caused me NOT to ovulate or could clomid make me ovulate late?? Now I'm so bummed that taking it ruined our chances this month :-(  Help...

Keep testing. I hae been told that clomid may delay ovulation.

Yes, it is common to ovulate later than normal when taking clomid.  Hang in there.

I too am wondering when I will ovulate. I finished clomid on cd9 and am now on cd18. No positive on OPK and little creamy lotion-like cm. I have however, had pains in what I assume is my ovary area and lower back. I may have missed my surge on the OPK. I have just bd'd anyway, just in case.

I just finished my first round of Clomid on CD7 and now I'm on CD13, no positive OPK yet, but I know it hasn't been too long.  I read on some website that on Clomid... ovulation can occur anywhere between 5 and 12 days after your last Clomid dose.  So, if you ended on CD9, ovulation usually occurs between CD14 and CD21 or a last dose on CD7.. between CD12 and CD19, so hang in there and why not keep BD'ing anyway! : )

I still haven't and I'm on CD20!  The only thing that I can think of is that I'm using the fertility monitor and it says that you may not see an LH surge on the monitor (or OPK's) due to the high levels of estrogen from the clomid.  Maybe we ovulated and didn't know it?  I can't imagine that clomid causes us "not" to ovulate?
