Okay, are all maternity clothes MADE for the slim and trim girls?

Okay Ladies,

I have found that Old Navy maternity clothes section sucks!!!  Well for me it does....all the jeans pretty much are low rise....I don't wear low rise.....and all are so tight on my butt it's ridiculous...I have lost hope!

All the shirts are sleevless?  what's up with that?  or they are these tiny little sleeves that my fat 'ol arm can flop around in.

Then Target, well they're not too much better...and motherhood store, forget it!!!

I can't find a descent skirt for work that is long....and good fabric...the motherhood items look like they'll shrink up after one washing!

Ahhhh!  What's a size 14 or so girl to do?  I did manage to at least find 3 shirts for work in Sears maternity!  Thank goodness...but I'm not showing enough quite yet to fill them out and would feel ridiculous to wear them.

I have found that either the clothes offered are tight fitting and too trendy or GOOFY matching little dorky sets.

I had good luck at pea in a pod last week.  Of course I live in jean shorts and ribbed tank tops.  They are comfortable for the 90 degree weather we have here!    BUT, I did notice that all the clothes are small or medium.  I take a large or extra large cause I'm still growing!!   Frustrating!

Do you have a Kohl's near you?  I am a petite person but found that the clothes range in all shapes, sizes and styles (and are cheap, cheap, cheap!)  They had 50-60% off sale two weekends ago, and I bought so much for under $200.  I mean, I HATE to buy maternity clothes, too.  I bet you'd do well there, if you have one there.  Try online, too :)  Good luck!

my sis was a BIG @SS GIRL when she had her daughter lol. she also had this maternal thing where she felt she had to be covered up and not sexy so she shopped at JC Pennys. and if you look online at old navy or other places like that, some of their selection is offered online only. pea in a pod has great stuff, but pricey for my taste. id rather spend money on the gym and a new wardrobe after i give birth!! lol but with a military income you have to be thrifty here and there. anyway, i was bored one night and looked on ebay. i found lots of cute stuff, from every size and every brand with tags still on for a great price! my problem is finding shirts that fit my boobs normally, what the heck am i going to do when i have to find maternity and they get even larger!!!!!!! maybe i should rent space on them hahhahaha

i would agree with you im sorry but for me when i get pregnant my butt gets bigger not what i want but that's what happens and i am only 5 feet  so when i find a pair of  Capri's  they look like floods  on me and as for skirts if i find one that's supposed to fit at the knees they go to my calf and look stupid and as for shorts well they accommodate the tummy but not my  butt im getting so frustrated as well and to make it worse i live in Canada not that that's bad but trying to find maternity stores is hard  there is old navy or thyme maternity that costs a fortune and well walmarts maternity cloths suck just because im pregnant doesn't mean that i forgot what fashion is why do the want to put us in stripes and flowers or big unflattering dresses sorry im rambling i will stop now hope you find somethings that you like im still looking

motherhood now has a plus size maternity section. try going online and looking there google plus size maternity.

Go to Target they have maternity clothes in sizes - I'm in a size 14 right now and they go up from there.  This is the only place I can find that has sizes and not S, L, X-L - I'm growing out of X-L Maternity clothes and I'm only 33w.  I wasn't overweight to begin with started out at 136 and now 184.

Lane Bryant has a maternity department online. They dont' sell them in stores, but if you go to www.lanebryant.com, they have a maternity section.  Their clothes start at size 14 and are generally good quality.

I am having the same problem with shirts.  I have huge boobs!  They are already big enough when I am not pregnant, but now they are disgusting.  I only wear an 8 in pants and am not having a problem finding them, my problem is with shirts.  I live in Oklahoma and am not due until August.  It will get reallly hot hear and I want some decent tank tops.  All I can find are Old Navy's ribbed tanks and they make me look terrible.

You know, I laughed when I saw this post because I was just saying this the other day to my husband!  I checked out a Motherhood store among others as well and even the XL cannot comfortably fit my boobs (which are likely to only get bigger, so whats up with that?!).  Not to mention getting jeans over my butt... it seems the "thin is in" goes into maternity as well.  I have never heard of a Pea in a Pod but I'm going to google it and check it out!

Try Wal Mart! Granted, I have NO butt (lol) but I found some really cute jeans there and bought them up. However, the legs and butt were way too big and I even got a small! (Lord knows they fit the gut though! lol) My best friend is a 14/16 and that is where she got all her pants!! I also recommend Kohls, like a previous poster said----they have lots of sizes and are pretty reasonable! I got some super cute shorts there for only $13!!!!

If you have a Shopko around you they have cute clothes at a decent price--I even found some cute things at Kmart--I am also a size fourteen--I had I think three or four pair of capris for summer and I just kept chaning the shirt for work--I think I had also one summer dress that I got at Sears.  A good idea to is to check out your goodwill or thrift stores--I remember not much of my maternity clothes sold in my rummage sale last year so I just brought all of them to Goodwill.

I got almost every stitch of my maternity clothes on eBay.  All of them were either new with tags or just slightly used, and they cost pennies on the dollar.  I'm not exaggerating, check out the deals.  I even got a dress that was simply a few sizes larger than my size pre-pregs and it worked out great.

i got most of my clothes at Kohls (they have a sale about every other week where you can get stuff 50% off), but i also had some luck at old navy (online), and recently discovered that burlington coat factory has the greatest selection at VERY low prices (but i don't know how far that chain spreads). if you have one close to you, i highly recommend you check it out.

LOL! JT!  I wore a 16 before my pregnancy.  The motherhood stuff has to be washed in cold (yeah I know) but the XL should work well for you if I can fit my fat butt in them.  lol  try the XL

I tried to get some maternity clothing at a resale shop, yeah... that didn't work.  I found a large skirt and that was about all.  Went to target and was annoyed with how thing there looked on me.  Maybe i'll try somewhere else next week, I need something more for work that isn't long sleeve.  The 80 degree day today about killed me.

I had problems with pants because my belly was low with both of my boys.  I tried to wear the cute underbelly pants, but my belly would push them down further.  I was lucky to get clothes from my sis and sil, but I did have to shop around too.  I'm not a big girl, but I agree that some of the clothes really don't fit well.  I did good at Sears, JCPenney, Target, and got some things at Motherhood, but had to get XL tops and I'm usually a S/M if that.  You would think they would make room for your boobs and butt.  Just shop around and try on what you can.  I wore loose long tops with my pants and just rolled them under my belly till I got bigger.  I couldn't really wear maternity clothes till around 6 months with my second baby, 7 months with my first.  I went from S maternity clothes to XL in a matter of a month or 2 so don't feel bad.  Maybe that's how they get you to buy more stuff.

I bought my maternity dresses at Thyme Maternity Store. If u have any store near ur place, try it.

Best place to go if you need a size that will actually fit is Motherhood Maternity.  There sizes are accurate.  I am larger and can buy the sizes that I wear pre-pregnancy and they are comfortable!  I couldn't get anything to fit from Wal-Mart, JcPenney, anywhere, they were always too tight!  And that would be getting a larger size that what I wore to begin with.  Go to their website, they have reasonbale prices and a lot of cute clothes.

Try going to lane bryant if you have one. They have professional clothes and casual clothes for bigger woman. It's a great store and they usually have good prices on their stuff.
