Old Wives Tales

Ya know I've heard so much about old wives tales. Any comments about this would be good. I just wanted to know whats held true for you girls.

In my opinion, they are fun, that's all.  If you think about it as far as what's true for carrying boys or girls, it's bound to be right 50% of the time... LOL

Some wives tales were true with my pregnancy! I always heard that when carrying a boy you won't have as much or severe morning sickness as you have when carrying a girl...it was so true with my pregnancy. Also, I read on here that you crave sour foods and salty foods more with boys...that was also correct with me. If my mom swore, she would swear that you can tell whether your baby is a boy or girl by the color of your nipples during pregnancy (pink for boy and brown for girl)...by the way she had boy, girl, boy, girl and says the color was right on for each one. Anyway, it was right for me too! Well it could all be coincidence but it is alot of fun! Best wishes!!!

I don't know how true Old Wives Tales are for most people but they were right for me.  I am probably having a girl (midwife's best guess from U/S) and I have carried her high the whole time.  Her HB has been consistently high at 160 since the beginning.  I also had lots of morning sickness in the beginning

I had never heard the nipple thing before, but mine did get darker.  It's fun to make guesses about the sex of the baby anyway!

I had terrible m/s with both of mine, didn't let up till after 5 months and then came back again at the end.  Both of mine were boys.  I did carry really low though and the heart rates fell in the boy range.  The Chinese gender chart was right with the first one, wrong with the second one.  It's so hard to tell, but fun.  By the way, my nipples were brown both times, never had heard that one before, but interesting.

The wives tales were  completely wrong for me :) The heartrate was 160, I had awfull morning sickness for the first almost 4 months, and I'm having a boy. All of the online "gender predictors" I took for fun said it was a girl, but the chinese calender was the only one that was right. good luck! :)

Well, I'll join in.
I was sick morning noon and night, had a girl.  However, my face didn't change as they say it does with girls and I carried VERY low which they say is usually for boys but I did carry very round as well.  I craved spicy SPCIY foods, couldn't even stomach anything sweet, not sure what that means though.
My nipples were brown...

In my family we tie a ring to a string and hold it over the belly. If it goes in a circle it is a girl. If it goes side to side it is a boy. I try it on my hubby and step-sons and it goes side to side. When I put it over my hand I get a circle. My grandma breeds birds and uses it on them to tell what the sex is. It has never failed her. Also all my cousins and nieces have all been decided on by the ring test. I live by that one and so far mine is a girl at 11 wk 5 days:)
