Good morning ladies, only 6 more days until Christmas! MIL called, a close family friend found a big stegosaurus for Jonathan! I was minutes away from going to Walmart, buy some material and hand stiching a 2 foot long stegosaurus when my MIL called and said Lisa found one! I was so relieved, I didn't have a pattern and was going to be spending a lot of time between now and next Saturday sleep deprived and trying to sew with a needle and thread : )

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day!

To: Everyone - Story of the Candy (J) Cane
First off Andi I am so glad you found what you were needing.  I can't imagine having to sew a huge dinosaur in 6 days.  Well actually at all I DO NOT sew.  I never wanted to learn.

Well anyway - At church today the Pastor gave his childrens message about the Candy (J) Cane.  So when you give your youngsters a Candy Cane explain this story....

The candy cane was actually meant to be called the candy J.  It is for Jesus (I am sure you all knew that).  The large red stripe represents the blood he shed from his side and the smaller red stripes represent the blood from the nailing of the hands and feet to the cross and the white symbolizes his pure sinless life.  I never thought of a candy cane that way and thought it was a beautiful way to talk about it.  I just wanted to share this with you.

DISCLAIMER - THIS IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND ANYONE WHO MAY HAVE DIFFERENT BELIEFS AND I DO APOLOGIZE IF I HAVE DONE SO.  HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!!!!!!

I will have to tell my kids that, thanks for the story that really is a beautiful way to look at it!

What a great story!  And it might be presumptious of me to say so, but I don't think you have to worry about offending someone with your story/anecdote.  Since when did we become so sensitive and Politically Correct, that simply sharing something from your belief system in a non-judgemental and non-proselytizing way, became offensive?!?

After all, if someone wanted to share a story about Kwanzaa beliefs, or lighting the menorah during Chanukah, in case there was someone out there who shared their beliefs, would you be offended?  I would hope not!  ::grin::

I'm at 9 dpo (or at least suspected O, anyway!), and the wait is killing me.  As I'm just starting out on this TTC journey, I have sooo much more respect for all you ladies who have gone before me!  Now I truly understand the meaning of the "dreaded 2 week wait".  This week has dragged out forever, and I can't believe that I have to wait until at least Christmas day to test (I'd go nuts if I did it any sooner; I figure I'll have a pretty accurate test if I wait until 15 dpo, and use a sensitive test).  Had a little cramping this morning, and a tiny pink smear on tissue; hoping that was implantation!!!

Then again, if I DID get that bfp on Christmas morning, what a wonderful present that would be for me and my family!

Do any of you think that if you eat a food that makes you gassy and you breastfeed will your baby be affected by it as well???  Thanks!!!!

I agree with Damali. I am Jewish and was not offended in any way. For me, I learned something new. Dh is Catholic and I'm gonna share that story with him. Thanks for sharing.

To: They grow too fast!
My little baby, my darling Tristan has been pulling himself to standing tonight all by himself! He started rolling at only a few weeks of age, he started crawling at 5 months, sitting up from his belly to sitting alone about 10 days ago and now this. They really don't stay babies for long!

Wow that is great!  Isn't he only almost 7 months.  My son is 6 months and is crawling backwards.  Did your son start that way (crawling backwards).  My dd didn't.

by Still_AndiJ, Dec 20, 2004 12:00AM
He started going forward with his crawling. It is nice to see that more coordinated movement then the scoot which was preceeded by rolling. He spent over a month scooting military style on his belly and pausing to "rock" on all fours, teasing me in a sense. And then took off crawling, quickly I might add. Nothing is sacred in his path. He prefers anything white like papers, wipes (Jonathan is obsessive about cleaning yet will toss the wipe aside after using it) socks, etc.

I am just happy the rolling is over. He made me crazy as everytime he would go from belly to back, he'd whack his little noggin and pitch a fit. Just like with his sitting up, he is fine for a while, but would fall back every so often (huge improvement in the last few days, he has learned to get back to belly)

He has been mobile for more than 3 months between the three different modes of movement. He will be 7 months a week from today, but he is still 6 months : ) The difference in a week can be amazing!
