When do they usually start doing your internal exams??? I can't remember when they did it with my daughter. Also once you start getting near the end do they do the internal exam every week???? I will probably start going to the dr every week after my next 2 appts I am assuming. Thanks
My ob did internal exams starting at 36 wks., and one a week til deliveryC-section Delivery presentations Infant care following delivery Steeley - DS hated the beach up until this yr. He is 3....He cried when I took him NEAR the water and would only play in the sand (or try and eat it when he was younger)
Steeley Ann-I didn't take DD until she was about 1. Not becasue I didn't want to, it jsut worked out that way. Be sure and slather that little guy with LOADS of sunscreen! Also, if he is walking, stay SUPER close to him. We get jellyfish washed up on the shore here alot and my DD nearly touched one one time! She is so curious! They are still dangerous even washed up and the stingers are still active.
blondie-With my DD I was being checked around 34 wks, but she only checked every OTHER week. I went in every week, but unless I had had considerable contractions she woudln't check me until the next visit.
Everyone-Okay I am 21 wks pregnatn adn realize I have a LONG way to go. My problem is this darn back pain every night. It's just at night mostly but it is unbearable! I cannot get comfortabel on the couch jsut to sit and watch tv, and when I go to bed I toss and turn for about an hour before I finally get tired enough to sleep through the pain. ANY HELP???? Have any of you seen a chiropracter while pregnatn and did it help? I want to try it, but I am afraid it won't be a one time deal. That I will have to go over and over for relief and I don't want to do that!!
Yes I went to the chiropractor about once every wk. or 2 starting at about 5 mos. He could only adjust my back a little but when he adjusted my neck sometimes it felt better than sex but after he adjusted me I got to lay on his chiro. bed that moved back and forth and had a roller thing that went up and down my back. Let me tell you it was well worth it. I have back problems anyway and I threw my back out once while I was pg. I know it's just one more dr. appt. you have to keep but it did help me.
No he isn't walking yet lol, I give him about 3 to 6 weeks before he takes off. We are going down to the beach with some friends and we are staying in there Beach cabin and leaving on Friday, I think its going to be fun, Maybe Friday we can go down to Galvaston and walk the Stran lol. I love the candy store there.
Hope eveyone is having a good day. I posted last week about being soooo depressed and stressed. Well this is a good week, Mike and I went shopping for the baby and it was so much fun, Mike had a really good time "test driving" the strollers. I also Finally got my vacation approved at work and we are going to go to Prince Edward Island for a week. I took my other weeks and put it at the front of my mat leave so i can get out of here early. The count down starts!
Quick question: does/did anyone carry a pager for work that required them to work after normal business hours, and if so when did you tell your job that you could not longer carry it. I get the after hours pager one week a month, and I get calls all night, well when I 7mnths prego I don't want to be getting up all night to work!!!
Talk to you later!
i have to agree with chaisemom about the chiropractor. i just went yesterday and he actually asked me if i have been having any lower back pain with this pg. i said no with a curious look and he said that with the second and third and so on pg the ligaments are all ready partially stretched out so women tend to have more lower back pain after the first pg.
and she is right, i had been battling headaches for about a week and let me tell you having your neck put back were it belongs.....oh yeah it is great instant headache releif. no kidding.

Hi everyone!!! I was over to my neighbors last night and she made a fruit dip that I thought was really really good so I thought I'd share...You just grind up strawberries, apples w/ peel on and kiwi, how much you use is your preference in food processor until it is salsa-like consistency. Add some sugar if too tart. Take tortillia chips and coat them w/ sugar & cinnamon...Dip and enjoy....It is YUMMY...I had to make me some today b/c everyone ate it too fast last night & I only got a couple:(
Hey!!! It's kinda healthy!!!! Sorry low-carbers, hope this doesn't make tyou crave sugar, hehe
Hey girl!! I started seeing the chiropractor in my 7th month because I got Bells Palsy, but I got back and neck massages too and it was WONDERFUL! I had to go every week, but it was worth it and my insurance covered it in full, which was a plus!
Steeley........I wasn't able to take my son to the beach until he was 7 1/2 YEARS old.
I live in Missouri and had never myself been to the beach until then. However, who ever told you to really use the sun screen is right on.......my son went to Mississippi for two weeks.........he just got home last night and he is blistered so bad.....not just sunburned.....BLISTERED on his shoulders. I was so mad. He is blonde and very light skinned and his fathers family down there seem to think the child can just go out and spend all day in the pool (full sun) like the rest of the kids (that are totally used to it)......
Last year he got heat stroke when he went down there and ended up in the hospital so far away from me........they didn't even call me until after he had been released.
Just be sure to use the sun screen and also be sure to keep your son well hydrated, that was my sons problem with the heat stroke.
Blondie........my doc didn't start the internal exams until 38 weeks......I went to L & D in my 37th week.....one day shy of being 38 weeks and they wouldn't (couldn't) to an internal exam even with the contractions. It is this hospital policy (military hospital) to get approval from the doc on call if mom is less than 38 weeks......they called and he told them not to do an exam and to just send me home.
I think I did the fertility monitor thing wrong this month. Well, this is the first month that I used it and my friend let me borrow it. She said I'd have to call and get a new instruction booklet but I didn't get it till I had used atleast 12-14 sticks. I can't pee on the stick 'cause that just takes talent and I always end up w/ more on me than the stick (tmi, sorry lol) so I always pee in a cup, which I can usually do...I had been reading the instructions that come w/ the sticks and it said to keep it in your stream for three seconds so that's how long I kept the stick in the cup for THEN I read the instruction book and it said to keep the stick in the cup for like 15 SEC. I was just thinking ****...I probably messed the whole thing up!! That was like CD 22 when I had been on high fertility since CD 10 so I just gave up after that thinking I didn't have enough urine on most of the sticks I tested. But I think I might be Oing now b/c I have been sick to my stomache for 2 days. So I think I gave up too soon... I'm on like CD 25 I think...My cycles were NEVER this long before I had my m/c back in November...Does anyone else have REALLY LONG cycles??? What could be causing it??? My ob said to come back in Sept. if we didn't have any luck and he would test my levels...I wasn't really planning on getting pg. this mo. anyhow for a couple of reasons 1- I have 10 mos b/f I get my bachelors and 2-DH works under hot conditions and that's not very good on the little soldiers, since they've been proven to be on the slow side anyhow they will prob. be better in the fall. But it is hard not to want to try when you have baby fever. My grandpa used to say that all he had to do was hang his pants on the end of the bed and my gramma would get pregnant....must be nice!! Well, sometimes...it's kinda nice not to have to take b.c. I'll shut up now hehe
I can't believe what some of you have to go through to get pregnant. I was so worried that it would be that way with me after I lost Jacob, but 2 1/2 months later I got pregnant. I don't know how you guys deal with having to try so hard. It would frustrate me, especially when young punks like me(I'm 20) hardly have to do anything.

I used to live in the Galleria area. I LOVED it. It's gorgeous!! But a warning, the traffic is a nightmare!! And keep your doors locked at all times. Unfortunatlely it is run over with homeless people, and while I wouldn't normally be afraid of them, sometimes they get a little close for comfort and I have even had them curse at me while at a red light for refusing them change. (For the record, I give money to charities where I KNOW where the money will be spent in good faith. Most of these people have a cup in one hand and a ciggarette hanging from thier lips. Just so nobody thinks I am some heartless person!)
Where are you going in Galveston? Along the seawall it's free to park (for now), but at crystal beach, you pay to park but you park rigth on the sand. However, Crystal beach is usually PACKED. The seawall beach is so long, that it's hard for it to be too packed! I also highly reccomend renting one of those umbrellas. They usually have "vendors" EVERYWHERE on the beach and for $15 for the whole day you get an umbrella and two beach chairs. It is so handy for little ones, especially if you intend to take lunch on the beach too. YOur little guy can still enjoy the sand but in the comfort and protection of the shade! Last year my DD and I stayed all day and even napped under our umbrella!
I think we are going to do more swimming at the beach cabin, I was just told that they had a pool there lol, Go figure your at the beach with tones of water and you get pool lol. Were also going to the "Stran" You know where the Old timey drug store is and all the yummy candy shops are. I want a big fat Chocolate covered strawberry lol. Well maybe one day we should meet up lol that would be fun.
Steeley-Holy cow girl! You are right by me!! I am in Cypress! Not far from Tomball. That is so cool! :)
Bailee-Well, I guess I may have to break down and go myself. Thanks for telling me your ins covered it though! I am goign to find out if mine will this week. I thought of massage but I don't know. I asked a lady at a spa if she was certified for prenatal massage and at first she tol dme you don't have to be sertified for that and when I insisted she just said "Oh yeah, I know how to do it." HHmmmmmm....I think I will pass on that! LOL Well, we have a chiro office righ tdown the street.
Are all Chiro's experienced with pregnant women? Or is this something I should ask?
Well I live in a small town so the chiro's are slim pickings, but the guys I went to is friends w/ my grandparents so I decided to go to him. I think he was a little nervous adjusting me, I don't know if some chiros have special beds for preggos and their bellies b/c mine doesn't so he just had me lay on my belly for a couple of minutes (until I got too big and it got REALLY uncomfy) while he pressed on my back (but not TOO hard), adjusted my neck then let me lay on the chiro bed.
Sometimes before I laid on my belly (and after I got big) he would use this vibrating thingy on my upper back to loosen up my muscles before adjusting it. My ins. covered for me to go but I had a $10 co-pay every time I went but it was WELL worth it.
Went in to have the nurse check the baby's heartbeat since this is about the time we lost Jacob. The nurse could not find it, but said it always is hard for her, so she wanted the doctor to try. I was so worried. I thought something might be wrong. The doctor found the heartbeat though and possibly the reason the nurse could not was because I had taken my inhaler today and my heartbeat was about 115, the baby's heartbeat was 122. The only reason the doctor knew it was the baby's heartbeat was because in one spot it was 115 and the next spot was 122. She said it is normal, and said to come in later this week if I wanted or next week. My doctors are so wonderful. I didn't have any trouble getting in for them to check the baby's heartbeat. I am glad that I am going to this office and not my regular doctor!!

Hi everyone! Any idea on if A/F type cramps are normal in early pg (5 wks). I had a m/c in 4/04 and after tons of BD :-), finally got a BFP on 7/13. Now I am getting mild cramps that won't go away. I hope I am just being paranoid, just wondering if anyone else noticed cramping as an issue? Thanks!!! Baby dust to everyone.
Well since you live so close to me, Let me know when what hospital you go in to have you baby and I can send you some flowers or something. It can be from MedHelp forum.
I'm sooooooo Irritable. It comes and goes. I'm fine one minute and about to "kill" someone the next. I think it's to early for PMS. It's only 6 DPO. What is going on with me.
And that is why we are women lol. I go through sperts like that all the time, my husband calls me the biggest well you know alive, and he is right all women can be. Your probley just going through a mood we all get that.
