To: Everyone - Question please
To all of you who are feeling movement - I am sitting here feeling what I assume is movement but my question is do you ever feel like the baby is kicking out of your anal area???  (sorry I have no other way to really put it)  Some of the movement I have been feeling is very low in the pelvic region also.  I always thought you felt it up higher in the tummy but I guess it could be that low since it is all connected in the area the baby lays.  Any advice would be helpful.  I find it to be exciting because the baby is moving but at the same time it is very uncomfortable to feel it there.  I know I was just complaining the other day I wasn't feeling much at all and now I am complaining that it is very uncomfortable when I do feel it but like I said if ANY of you have had this that would be great if you could help me out.   Thanks girls

To: Birth control question.......
Hi all,
Was just kinda wondering about birth control after my little one is born......
We very well may want another baby but of course not right away. Need to let the body recover and all that, plus who can handle 2 babies in diapers?!?!?! LOL
Anyway, my first question is "if I'm breastfeeding is there still a chance of getting pregnant?".........I've heard that breastfeeding will keep you from getting AF therefore keeping you from ovulating.........
Am I correct???????
I had the noraplant put in after my son was born 9 years ago and would never consider that again........
I suck at taking the pill, although I've been so good with my prenatal vits that I think I might be able to remember.
Not sure about all the side affects I've heard about from getting the shot.......
Thanks for any info ya'll can give me.........
Hugs,
Vikki

What about the patch????  I don't know what kind of side effects that has but you could look into that.  Also what about a diaphram or something???  I only took the pill a long time ago so I do not know much about anything else.  As far as breastfeeding goes...  I have heard the same thing that it can act as a birth control method but NEVER go by that.  Use something if you want to prevent it for now.  What about just using condoms?  This way your body will not get thrown out of whack when it is time for another baby.  These are just a few things.  You could discuss others with your doctor.  You could also go with my method (the worse one yet)  the pull out method.  Don't know how but it has worked for 5 yrs for us.  Good Luck in what you decide.

Hey girl, was wondering where you've been. Thanks for the idea of the time capsule, wouldn't that be great. If I soon don't start having proof everything is ok I am going to have a nervous break down. I'm telling you I am stressing big time. I am so close to panic attacks and I know it's not good. I am so over taken by it all. Just plainly stressed to the max. I really need to know things are ok. The stupid doppler, so called doppler I have is called a womb music or something. Anyway, it seems to be more for playing music for the baby in the womb. I read the instructions and it says you can hear the heartbeat around 4 months, whoohoo. Was I ever peaved.  My friend that sent it to me told me it was the better of the two she has, well it's junk I think. It's very distorted when I try to listen to it. I can't imagine picking anything up on it. I wonder if the company where you rented it would rent in Canada?

Hey girl, no I didn't test either. Looks like we are cycle buds for this month too...lol! My af is never early, never strays from 28 days and sure enough she was and did this time?!?! Trying to make things hard I guess. Good luck this month! Are you using a calendar, charting, or OPK's??

By the way, breastfeeding does not nessessarily stop you from getting pregnant, I have known 2 women who had that happen to them and amazingly enough 1 of them was my Dr.'s wife. Even he was amazed, I think!

by cazip, May 02, 2004 12:00AM
I'm still here...are you?

I left for a while but I'm back. How are you?

Blondie..I have had some really wierd movements lower as well especially when I was around 15 - 16 weeks. I could have sworn this little girl was playing with my cervix lol. I told my doctor and she kinda chuckled lol. Babies are so tiny and move so mych in the early weeks. DH says she is going to be a gymnist. You should see her now lol I swear she is do backflips in there now he he.

Anna..Happy Birthday and Congratulations on the wedding. My 1st ann. is on the 7th. We were supposed to go to Monterey but that got negated by doc and the girls here on the board. Thanks girls by the way. Too many braxton hicks. Again congrats!!!!

Capermom.. I know this time is the most stressful for you and understandably. Maybe you could find some little hobby that will keep you busy. I went out and got some stamped cross stitch bibs to do and they are a lot of fun. They have so many designs and they are time consuming too. I got my doppler from heartones.com I think that is what it is..let me check lol...nevermind it is just the US darnet..maybe try to do a search on google and see if you can find one. Sorry Couldnt help more I know this has to be scary and exciting all at the same time. Soon you will be here just like Blondie and wondering why your little peanut is kicking you in places where it shouldnt lol. Take it easy hon I hope you feel better soon.

Sorry I could not answer everyones post. I pray all you who are waiting get your bfp real soon and those starting out the month I hope this is your month.

Happy Sunday everyone! I went to get my blood test done on Friday and I wont find out until tomorrow and I am stressing! Quick question: I am pretty sure that I had implantation bleeding last week, but my HPT was a BFN. This week I have noticed that my discharge is more of a yellow color than normal and I was wondering if this had happened to anyone else. I keep thinking I am getting my AF (Probably because I don't want it), but it is 4 days late so far. (Yeah!)

Here is what I have found about bc after baby : )

If you are going to breastfeed, you cannot take anything with estrogen in it (the pill, patch or ring) You can take depo or the mini-pill (basically the same thing, only the mini pill is a much shorter acting form, so if you do not like it you can quit taking it) But the down side to the mini pill is that you must be diligent about taking it at the same time every day and it needs to be timed about 4 hours before you plan on gettin some : ) Talk about killing the mood.

There are always condoms, foams, sponges, etc. I am actually going to talk to my doctor about the IUD as depo killed my sex drive completely while taking when I was breastfeeding my son (how's that for birth control, lol).

My last bit of advice, do not rely on breastfeeding as birth control. Even on demand feeding (which is the only way you wouldn't ovulate in theory) is still no guarantee. And pulling out/ rhythm is not terribly effective either. Have you heard the joke, what do you call people who practice the rhythm/ withdrawal method? PARENTS,lol!

Anyway, definitely talk with your doctor. They should have some more information for you.

Good luck, you are due 12 days after me!!

Thanks so much for the responses......Guess I was wrong about using breastfeeding as a form of birthcontrol......I felt kinda silly asking ya'll but now I'm glad I did...

Must have been a major shock to a doctor to find out his wife was pregnant again when he thought they were protected (although nothing is 100%, well aside from abstenance......)

Andi, yes I have heard that joke about the only people using the 'pull & pray' method being parents......LOL
Too funny!!!!!!!

I didn't know I couldn't take anything with estrogen in it......thanks for that info too.

I will talk to my OB and midwife and see what they recommend.....I know condoms are out of the question for DH and I both.....we both hate them.

Thanks again all!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Vikki

I am supposed to get my blood test results back tomorrow, but I just took a HPT and it was neg. Is it wrong to think that maybe I am still PG? Probably so. I guess I just needed to take another test so that tomorrow if my results come back negative it will be easier to deal with. I wasn't TTC, but I really thought that I might be pregnant and I guess I am just depressed that I am not. I understand that many of you have been hurt by this Melissa person so I am not expecting a response- I just needed to get my thoughts out as a sort of therapy. Good luck to all of you TTC and those who are already pregnant.

Maybe you just took it too early. Hopefully your blood will tell a different story. The girls will get to know who you are, Don't worry. Just give them time. I only came here hoping to learn more about bicornate uterus but this place is so open and friendly under normal circumstances.
