Hey girls!

Well looks like Cajun may be  in labour!!!

Okay this was bugging me.....Gay marriages now I dont care what they do really, but now they are making commercials!!
Promoting it!!

I feel the whole marraige thing has always been too comercialised(sp). It dosen't seem to bother people when we see non stop comercials of different sex marraiges. I'm not saying people aren't intitled to their views of gay marraiges, is just that is dosen't bother me.

I have not seen any commercials for it.  I am with you though if they want to marry so what.  I have always looked at it like this it may be wrong but let God decide it.  We are not here to judge anybody and if they find someone to love who loves them and treats them with utmost respect then who cares who it is.  I think it is great they can find someone to be happy with even if it is the same sex.  My sisters always talk about how their kids WILL NOT be gay.  I always say you don't know that and what if they are???  I will love my children no matter what they decide.  

Well it is only 7:30 and little "C" is already screaming his bloody head off OMG!!!!!!!  DH is gone until 3:00.  Still feel crappy and this is NOT helping.  I may throw him in his crib and let him scream up there.  I get tired of it every freakin' day.  Gotta go give him his meds.  Hopefully I can get back on later.  Thank God I am going to a Pampered Chef party tonight with NO kids.   Take Care

I have a SIL who was married for 7 years and had two kids, Then she leaves her husband and then says she is gay!! She has been with this other lady for about 8 years..

Im fine with it all , but for the sake of kids I just dont think it needs to be promoted its just like anything once you give an inch they want a mile.
Like anything on the tv..They see it they think they should do it!!

Well, didn't Canada legalize same sex marriage?  I can say I have never seen same sex marriage commercials here in Alabama.  I have a feeling I will see them last, considering Alabama is VERY conservative.  They have been trying to legalize it here in some places, but it is illegal according to our Federal Gov't so it will never be recognized until they pass a federal law.  Why do they have to promote it on commercials?  It's not like it is something you talk someone into doing, you are either gay or not.  My boss (the schoo president) is gay.  He was married forever and has a grown son.  He left his wife (i assume) because now he has been dating the Director of our Interior Design program, I know, what a cliche!

I have to say that's one of my pet peeves, people who get married knowing they are gay. Your are hurting your partner, who loves you and dosen't realise you are gay. Then there is the kids, i just feel if you are gay fine but don't go into a marraige pretending to someone you are not. If you don't want to come out, stay in the closet, that way inocent people won't get hurt.

With the risk of starting something, what is wrong with having gay marriage commercials?  They have heterosexual marriage commercials.  If someone is gay, a child say, I wouldn't want them to think there is something wrong with them.  Plus, a commercial will not "make" someone gay.  Just like listening to music will not cause someone to be violent and/or commit suicide.  I believe that everyone has the right to be happy.

Yes they did legalize it in Canada!...Boy do I need to run the world!...Just for one week!! stuff would be changed
A jail would be a jail--a cell, a toilet and meals if your lucky  Not having a ball, tvs, pool tables, exercise rooms I figure if you get yourself into jail YOU DONT deserve anything

Although SIL husband was a jerk (sometimes I think maybe thats why she turned gay) that marriage was doomed from the begining it was like a match and a container of gas, a matter of time before it would ignite!! but yes If your gay your gay

sorry but i agree with you. like it has been said before, everyone has their own opinion and i do not agree with it. yes i am from the deep south and it is really accepted here. i do not want my kids asking me why 2 men or women are standing there kissing each other. but too, like blondie said, it is not my place to judge them, they will be judged by God. but that not mean i have to accept it as a normal every day part of life.

I must not watch the same commercials as the other ladies, but I never see commercials advertising marriage whether it be gay or not.  I see commercials for wedding items (clothes, jewelry etc).  Now I do see alot of commercials for those internet match maker stuff, but it doesnt go in to detail.  I am sure if you are looking for the same sex, they will find one for you if you pay them.  Whatever.  I am surrounded by gay people at work and I just dont care.  I am not in their bedroom and they are not in mine, so I dont care.  As for when AJ asks me why 2 men or 2 women are kissing, I will deal with that when the time comes.  I just have a feeling when he is old enough to notice and ask, it will be more accepted everywhere and will not be a big deal.  DH's cousin is gay and no one really even mentions it.  I mean, we laugh at the way he acts, but that has nothing to do with him being gay, he is just a dork.  Whatever, go do your thing and I will do mine....

Actually it was on this morning some entertainment show I think they are just starting to get them to roll since it was legalized--I really dont care I just dont think it needs publicity..Just like alot of other things that dont either!!

I agree.  I watch this show on Showtime "Queer as Folk".  DH refuses.  He says it is disgusting.  I dont disagree with him, but it is kind of like when there is an accident on the highway, you know you shouldnt watch because it just adds to the problem but you do anyway because you cant not look.  That is how that show is for me.

you know what though, it dosen't matter if kids see gay marraige comercials. If they are gay well the comercial hasen't influenced that it's just there hormones are imbalanced.

i have a little brother that at the age of 15 said he was gay. our mom died when he was 14. we have a sorry a*s dad that that has always been in our lives but might as well not had been. he was not abusive but just totally unconnected with us. well, my brother is now 17 and has a boyfreind. I mean just turned 17. my dad lets him go out of town with this young man , which is over 20 for over a weeks time. My brother is so caught up in it because this guy buys him things......expensive things. Like he is his pimp or something. my dad never had the "sex" talk with him about protection ect so I am very scared of what he is doing. he is bone thin looks bad and yet my dad does not say a word to him about anything. he plays stupid like he knows nothing. so this hits very close to home with me. he knows I do not agree with it but he also knows I love him and would not abandone him because of it but he also knows that he and his"man" are not going to come up in my house and plop down on my couch and cuddle ect. This is my house, I do not condone it, and its not happening.

i do think kids can be influenced by commercials,tv ect. I think there are  many kids that have seen things on tv and gone out to do them because they think it is cool only to have drastic consequences latter in life. whether it be drugs, sex, homosexuality ect.

It must be really hard for you, but i think your really the bigger person because even although you don't condone your brothers choice you except it. Good for you. I don't think he would be all cuddly with his bf knowing how you feel. Lets face it how many straight couples are cuddly(excepy horny teens). I know it alright for people like me to spout about equal rights, when noone in my family is gay(not that i know of)
If you feel concerend for your brothers welbeing why don't you ask him if he's being carefull?

OK, I am going to say my piece and then try to shut up on this subject.  I dont have a problem with gay people or whether they can get married, it is just none of my beeswax.  However, I do feel that in recent years, with it becoming more socially accepted and such younger people are stating they are gay.  Homosexual movie stars or celebrities are shown with their significant others and having their commitment ceremonies etc.  They glamorize the whole idea of being homosexual or bisexual like it is a hobby or a fad (Anne Heche and her time with Ellen DiGenerous).  I do think that when kids see that they may be influenced a bit to be "cool" and say they are gay.  I think it is more of an attempt to get attention than anything and maybe as they get older they will grow out of it.  If I have offended anyone, sorry.

You did make a good point about the whole celebrity thing, i never thought about it that way. I just think if people are not gay why would they want to put themselves through HELL. Even although the stars are coming out.

Why does anyone do anything?  I will never know.  We may think it is crazy, but I am sure I did things as a teenager to seem "cool" and would never do it now.  When I look back I cant remember what made me think doing it would make me cool (for example, Clinton didnt inhale, but I did, several times)
