Organic Moms/Organic Babies? Some info please

Hi everyone.  I am getting ready to make the big change from formula to cow's milk for our 11 month, 3 week old.  Organic Cow milk by me is about $4.60 per half gallon.  Have you guys read anything about the difference in Organic milk and regular milk for babies? Also, my daughter is currently on Soy formula, so I was thinking about talking to our Dr. about switching to Soy milk?
Any other recommendations on organic products? I heard rasins are a big Yes in Organic.  Anything else?

I know this MIGHT not pertain to what you are asking however..in a way it could...I asked the pediatrician about organic baby food etc versus normal baby food and what he responded was do you eat everything organic yourself and i said no and he said then i dont suggest it...the way he had explained it was that organic has no pesticides or something and IF you dont eat organic and you introduce your child to organic foods once they begin to eat table food like you, it might be difficult on their system?? i dont know if its actually true or not but he said some babies immune system reacts to the pesticides if they werent introduced too early???

Organic is not as crucial as hormone free milk....which is costly too.

I have and always will buy hormone free milk for my kids.

I also, do give my kids as much organic food as possible.....DH and I included.

It's costly but it's worth it.....we skimp in other areas....like no cable or cell phones.

We just started giving our son whole milk last month when he turned one. We are giving him organic milk (and it's about the same price as you quoted) for at least a year or two. If we go through two cartons (1/2 gallon each) in a week, it's still cheaper than formula.

There is a list of products that are higher on the list of what you SHOULD buy organic, and meat, milk and eggs are high on the list.

Here is the link to an article that tells you what's worth the money and what's not when buying organic. Hope this helps! :-)

Thanks so much for the input.  Deanne, your right regarding the hormone free milk.  I heard some things about it.  I live in an area where I can easily buy everything I need organic. But I will probably go broke doing so.
CYW, I did give my daughter a combination of Organic baby foods (earths best) but unfortunately, the supply by my apartment and my home aren't great.  So I also did some organic Gerber and just regular Gerber. So far so good. But I do buy her Organic Sweet potatoes and make them for her.
I probably need to educate myself a little more on the subject but I just want her to be healthy.
PS: I tried the baby yougert and she hates it :)

Avery hated the Yobaby yogurt but she loves the Dannon Kids or Yoplait Kids now I forget which one. Oh well but I also bought Gerber organic and regular. Just be careful sometimes things say they are organic and they really aren't. There is really no way to tell. Good luck with the milk transition, Avery didn't have any trouble. :)

I'm so glad I didn't have all these worries when my boys were little.  Things were simpler.  All that existed was regular old pesticide laden food.

You gals have it tougher!
