Ovarian cysts in pregnancy

Ovarian cysts in pregnancy

I have been in severe pain for 2.5 weeks now. I went to the doc on Monday and demanded an u/s. It showed that I have cysts on each ovary. They are 2 cm right now. I go back in 2 weeks for another u/s to make sure they are not growing. Anyone dealt with these before? I have had several before (including one that had to be removed surgically this past summer) but this one seems to hurt sooo much more! Just curious if anyone else has had this and what you did for it. Also....my next ultrasound will be at 15 weeks. Anyone find out baby's sex this early? We're getting real anxious! :) Thanks!

i found out i had a cyst on my right ovary at my 22wk u/s it was 4cm... kept getting it checked out and it kept growing.. by the time i was 32 wks it was 12cm.... at 32 weeks i had it drained with a needle which was completely pointless b/c 3 days after that it grew from 5cm to 10cm....i believe you are too far along to have it surgically removed but i would definately make your docs keep a close eye on it make sure its not growing...

I am actually going through this myself.  As most of the board members know I have an Ovarian Cyst that has now been classified as an Ovarian Tumor, because of it's size, which is 20cm x 18cm x 15cm.  I am also 12 weeks 4 days pregnant.  Tomorrow, I am having my surgery to remove the tumor.  They really don't start worrying about cysts till they are bigger than 6cm.  Cysts are normal during pregnancy, one is called a Corpus Litum (sp) and it helps to maintain a pregnancy.  So take it easy and try to not worry.  They have a very small window to surgically remove a cyst, 13 to 16 weeks, which is the safest time for the baby and mother.  Take care, and you are in my thoughts and prayers for a healthy and safe pregnancy.  :)

Thanks girls! I know they intend to keep a close eye on the cyst which I am thankful for (not only are they watching it but I get an opportunity to catch a sneak peek of my baby!)I'm hoping it doesn't grow too much but usually mine get around 6 to 7. 12-22 inches....wow!!! You poor things! Did either one of you get put on bedrest for these?? I can't even imagine the pain! Thanks again!

well on dec.15-dec19 i had a regular period then on dec 26-jan5..i was bleeding..had no clue why so i went to the dr and the sosn showed i had a cyst on my rite ovary...but wasnt pregnant....then on feb 7 out the blue i took a prenancy test and it was positive..and i was having abdominal cramps so i went to the er..they did a sono and found a sac in my uterus with nuthn in it...so i was sent home...thinkn i possibly had a miscarrage (miscarriage)..or that it was to early to detect anything in the sac..so today feb 16 i went for a check up and now they see a fetus and i am currently 6 weeks pregnant....its amazing what can happen in just 9 days
