My cycles really changed after having a baby and have gone wacko. Your doc, though, can test you to see what is up. Might be hormonal changes, thyroid problems..it's good to get it checked out.
I had my son Ashtyn in June of 07 and was not diagnosed with PCOS until December of 08. I had been on the pill so my periods had been normalNormal saline flush (got preg with my son on the pill). After I had my son, my periods were very irregular, and I would go 6 months at times between them. Anyways, doc did blood tests and confirmed PCOS....so it is not impossible!
I had 2 children without a problem and then after trying for 12 months for the 3rd I went to obgyn and he told me I had pcos and put me on clomid to regulate my cycles. Good luck and I hope you get some satisfaction from this guy.
I was diagnosed with PCOS after my 2nd mc - and I have never in my life missed a period except when I'm pregnant. Symptoms of PCOS vary widely and are so similar to so many other things it is hard to diagnose properly. Sounds like your doctor does not have much experience with it if he is jumping to the conclusion you don't have it becuase you have a child. Jillian will be 1 in 11 days (wow...where did the time go???) and I still have regularRegular insulin periods (shorter cycles while not on the pill) but still every month I get them. I also can tell when I get cysts lately because I end up in a lot of pain and sex is touchy because it can be so painful at times. I hope it isn't getting worse for me so we can try for #2 soon.
I would talk to your doctor and if he isn't willing to listen and run some tests to see if you really do have it, then you should consider switching doctors
let me just say I had my first with no problems.. then I gained a bunch of weight... periods stopped... diagnosed with PCOS.. did clomid then injectables and had baby 2... then I lost all the weight... got down to a size 14.. periods came back, got pg again first month without trying... so the key to fertility with PCOS is weight many times.. but since you are preggers.. guess you don't have to worry!!
