PMS this soon???

by Kassimom, Feb 16, 2004 12:00AM
OMIGOSH I have been such a raging b*tch this weekend! I have been really hard on my DD yelling at her and being really hard on her and every time my DH asks me a question I get snotty. This is NOT like me except when I am PMSing but even then, I had it under control while on BC. For those months off of it, my PMS was not this bad. Not only that, but I certainly wasn't expecting PMS this soon! I had it down on the calendar to not start again for two weeks, (6w after m/c).

So anyway, here are 3 questions:

Is it possible to start again on a 28 day cycle after m/c?

Has anyone else had PMS this bad after m/c?

If I were to get pregnant, do I count the first day of my m/c as the first day of AF to calculate ovulation?

Yes it is possible.  I started on a regular cycle right after my m/c. As soon as I stop bleeding AF showed up almost exactly 28 days.  I too had and still get VERY bad PMS.  What makes it worse, I get PMS much earlier than I did before m/c.  Hope this helps!

I would count the first day of AF to figure out ovulation not the first date of miscarriage.  You may also have more PMS) because your body is possibly still trying to adjust all the hormones to begin regular cycles. Just a thought.

I started with pms within the fortnight of m/c and it felt ten times worse than ever before.  I am trying to get pregnant again its 13 week after m/c now.  my mood swings are terrible but not sure on getting medication for obvious reasons.  Maybe there is stress factor to consider too which increases ratiness. Hope this helps.

I have had extreme PMS since the last miscarriage in November. I have always had it bad, but not compared to this, It has even been lingering a few days after I am done with AF. I am a total B%$&@ I mean I am hard on everyone and I feel like exploding!!!
:::sigh:::
Hopefully it will get better for you because I know it sucks!

Thanks so much everyone, that really helps! I know I am not crazy now! And I agree about the stress factor. I know that has to be part of it. Thank goodness it is happening 2 w sooner than I thought it would though! That puts me 2w closer to ovulating again and 2w closer to TTC for the first time since.

Thanks again all. Hope it gets better!

Thank God for these boards. I had a miscarriage four weeks ago and am starting my first period since. I have had HORRIBLE PMS all week. Every nerve in my body is irritable and I am quite depressed. I'm actually quite happy about many circumstance in my life, but I cannot shake this hormonal weight that is bringing me down.  Fortunately, Googling the topic has given me information, such as this board, that has told me that it's normal to have intense PMS after a miscarriage.
