POSSIBLE M/C, SCARED

POSSIBLE M/C, SCARED

Hi, I am not new to this forum, but I don't post often, nor am I religious about logging on everyday. But anyway, I had a m/c in march at 9 weeks, no bleeding or anything, heart stopped beating, had a d/c.
I got a BFP last week! I was so excited after trying for awhile again. Today i would be 5 weeks, 2 days. On Friday (2 days ago) I noticed brown spotting, which I have come to find out is normal "old blood", so I did not worry. Well last night (Sat) after working a grueling shift at the hospital, I noticed red blood and a little bit more. I got concerned, but did not want to freak yet. As I was driving home I started to cramp up, not terrible, but noticeable.
Right now I am still "heavy spotting red", mild abd cramps, and really scared. I took my temp and it is down one-half degree, but I also slept like **** from worry!
It's Sunday, so I can't really call my doctor. Any suggestions? Comments? thanks

As it is heavy spotting red and as you work at the hospital can you go there and get checked??
At the very least give them a ring.
good luck

You really must get yourself checked out. As Emcy2 said, as you work in the hospital is there no one you know who could maybe check you out, maybe even do a quick Ultra sound.

I hope that everything is going to be OK, however when I miscarried I did start off with some light brown spotting.

The doctors do say though, that they will not consider a miscarriage until you are experiencing heavy bleeding, by that they mean that you change about 2 Pads in one hour.

But any bleeding should be checked out straight away.

There are women on this forum who have experienced bleeding thoroughout their pregnancies and everything worked out fine.

Just call your doctor or go to the ER and get yourself checked, at least to give you some peace of mind.

I agree with you guys, but as for the U/s I dont think that it would even show anything yet.  NOt trying to upset you, but you are still very early.  Best of luck, and at least go to the doctor to see what they can do for you.

I am in the same position today as you.  I had a very early ultrasound 2 weeks ago, they didn't see anything.  I had spotting and it went away.  Thought I was out of the woods.  Now I am passing bright red blood. (started friday am)  Very minimal clots.  Lots of cramping and back pain.  I've been in touch with the doctor, I told her I preferred to stay at home, rather than sit in the er.  I thought I would have passed the baby by now, but nothing.  The waiting is killing me.  I go see her tomorrow and I have an us on Wed.  I am assuming they will want to do a dnc if they see anything on the us.  Very scared of the dnc, last mc happened on it's own.  There's a small irrational part of me that has this absurd hope that the baby is holding on.  My family went to church and I am home alone having a pity party.

I am sending prayers that your wee one is fine.  Take good care of yourself.

Thanks for the kind words. I don't think it is worth going to ER either. This early in the game, they can't do anything anyway. I was just posting to find out if anyone had had this experience with positive outcomes.
I think I am going to join your pity party.

How far along are you? Are you far enough along you could tell if you passed it? How long have you been ttc?
My cramps have eazed up, but I still have the red spotting. That's gotten lighter too, my temp is back up too? Weird?
Like I said in last post,ER or anyone else can't really do anything, it's a waiting game...so I am going to wait till tommorrow to call the doc I think.
Good luck

i also have been there in that horrible situation of the waiting game...... but if i could just offer you a little advice is please do not be rushed into a d+c.     i have a six month old beautiful baby girl.... that i was told i had miscarried during early pregnancy.   i started spotting quite heavily at 5 weeks 2 days, i went to the er and had an u/s done where they found no heart beat. i was then told to have a series of blood test to check my hormone levels.  i was told that if my pregnancy was viable that the hormone levels would double dayly....
my results were coming back that my levels were slightly increasing but not doubling.  my doc said that miscarriage was imminant (sp?) and recomended a d+c be done that day.. i refused and requested that nature take its course and i be let pass it naturally.  2 weeks later nothing much had happened and the bleeding had slowed but not stopped so i went back to the doctor as she requested.  I was given a check up and then booked into the hospital the following morning for the d+c.
i was devistated but glad that it was soon going to all over.
i arrived at the hospistal the next morming as mentally prepared as i could be under this terrible situation. I was prep'd and then sent to xray so they could check the position of the baby.  to ours and the xray persons amazment we found a heartbeat!!!! the doc had got it wrong!!

im not overly religious but i thank god every day that i didnt rush in and have the d+c on that earlier appt otherwise they would have taken my beautiful healthy baby girl away from us for no reason!

please just be aware that sometimes babies heart beats are not always visible before 10-12 weeks, although most docs work on 8 weeks.
i dont wont to give you false hope which is more painful in the long run... but i just get scared to think that docs can be a little quick to give up on early pregnancies.

i wish you the best of luck, and i know its hard but keep your chin up, positive thinking is an amazing power!!

hugs......

I bled bright red with my son for a few days.  It started over the weekend, but I called the oncall Dr. at my OB office and he told me that they really couldn't do anything to stop it if I would miscarry, so I was best to stay at home and skip the ER unless the bleeding got really heavy of the pain got intense.  I made it through the weekend so sure I was going to miscarry only to see my baby the following week.  I wasjust fine, and bled a pretty good amount, it happens.  They never knew why.  I also m/c in June and started out with brown spotting, but mine was for 5 days, then turned red and I started to cramp.  That did not end too well.  Point is, never give up till they confirm it as a m/c.  Cramping is not a good sign, but I cramped with all of my pregnancies, if it gets really intense , call your Dr. ASAP.  If not, just call the office ASAP in the morning, good luck.

I would be seen.  Brown blood is never a good sign regardless of what they tell you.  The red blood is sometimes okay and can indicate a subchorionic bleed which in can be normal I bleed with my son for 7 momths on and off.  so just be seen..   at least have blood work done..

I'm about 7 weeks, so I will know if I pass the bebe.  I'm not even passing clots, just bright red blood.  I am trying to have faith, I believe God has promised another child to me and my husband....However, that doesn't mean it is a biological child.  I so want this enfant to be okay.

Are you having pain?  I have cramps that come and go.  Please keep us all posted.

Love and warm wishes.  I hope you feel God's hand on you in this dark time.

I am also having cramps that come and go, and no clots, just bright red. I don't even really need a pad cuz I have to pee every hour or so...
I was suppose to go to work this afternoon, but I called in. Don't think I could mentally focus on other peoples problems today
I have no appetite either, maybe that's from worry (?)

I only want chocolate.  Luckily for my family, several families from our church have brought food.  They are eating very well.
