When I was researching jaundice I did read "purple jaundice" is when a baby is born purple
(cyanotic) and as they pink up a few minutes later the feet remain purple for awhile longer
(due to slower circulation) It is not a medical emergency - just a term for the purple feet.
jaundice is caused by the levels of Bilirubin in the liver
Because bilirubin has a yellow colour, an excess in the blood causes the person to be jaundiced. hence the yellow skin
hope that helps :)
