Painful Stretch Marks

Painful Stretch Marks

hey ladies, this is sort of an odd one, but i have some pretty nasty stretch marks from this pregnancy and i noticed last night that one of them is VERY painful. At the ends it looks like a broken blood vessel sort of and hurt a lot!

is this normal? i have been putting cream on them every day but they still keep popping up!

I do not have an answer for you but just out of curiosity how far along are you and when did they start.  I am wondering if I will get them.

Stretch Marks will vary in how they feel, their sensativity, and their size.  Sometimes they will even itch.

I am 34 1/2 weeks and I'm am getting these too. I have broken blood vessels all over my stomach and it looks horrible. My baby is pressing so hard on me sometimes. She has run out of room. I just keep putting cocoa butter on it to relieve the itching sensations.

mine are itchy too, except this one that hurts really bad!

i am 28 weeks with twins, i started getting stretch marks really early though.

you can try to prevent them i guess, but i think if you are going to get them its inevitable...

I'm curious too like cantwait4baby. I am 34 weeks. My sister does not have it with her son, but my mom had. What is the latest time you will get it? up to delivery or after certain weeks if you still don't have it then they won't come to you. Sorry, it is a little off topic.

I got stretch marks with my pregnancy and the doctor said I could thank my mother for them.  They are hereditary.  I dont know of anything that makes them go away.  Such a bummer.  Use lots of moisturizing cream or Aquaphor is even better.  You will be using Aquaphor on your baby's coolie too so you may as well start now.

Bloddy stretch marks. I started getting them at 8 weeks pregnant. Right now my stomach looks like its been attacked by a cat on a frenzy. I dont really think u can do anything to prevent, just to sooth them. I put cream on every night to help ease the itchy ones. Not much we can do unfortunatly. I'm currently 27 weeks.

I am 27 1/2 weeks pg and have stretch marks too.  Mine don't itch or hurt but they are there and no matter how much moisturizer you use, you're bound to get them if your mother had them with you.    :(

Sad to say, the reason for stretch marks is a lack of elasticity in your skin. Really, one would have to spend years BEFORE pregnancy rubbing frequently with lotions and oils to prevent them entirely if they have initially dry skin. I have also heard it said that they are hereditary so if anyone has plans to prevent the same stretch marks their mother has, start moisturizing early!!. =) (I have 4 "kids" and planning on my 5th soon...I learned that stretch marks are a beauty mark of motherhood and I don't worry about them...they actually tend to fade as I tone my stomach area after having a child.) Other than that, I would suggest just use Vitamin E oil. My friend was given this advice when her stretch marks became painful.

I was totally diligent with cocoa butter. Sometimes putting lotion on 2-4 times a day and I thought I was in the clear with no stretch marks....then I hit week 35. That's when mine started popping up. I'm week 37 now and my skin feels so tight and uncomfortable. I put on lotion multiple times a day to try and relieve some of the discomfort but it's not helping.
