Patch on Thigh - More Health ? Than Baby

I posted this on the Women's Health forum but I don't think it will ever be answered with how low of activity that forum has... hopefully someone could help me here.  A few months ago DH developed a bad itch in the genital area, mainly inner thighs.  He attributed it to chaffing, but the skin around his genitals and inner thigh became discolored and somewhat raised in areas.  I kept telling him to go see a doctor - he didn't.  Today I have noticed a discolored (burgandy / brownish) patch that is somewhat raised on my inner thigh.  It does not itch at this time, and I doubt that it has anything to do with my being pregnant.  Anyone have any ideas / thoughts?  Thanks!

It could be a fungal infection.  Best bet would be to have a  medical professional look at it--they could probably tell you exactly what it is.
