Period after IUD removal

Hi all! I had my copper IUD removed mid March. My period was 9 days late, then started really light, the same way they were before I had an IUD. On the IUD they were very heavy, and usually lasted around 4 days. Now, I had 3 days of light bleeding, and then yesterday it got really heavy and painful. And it is the same today, with no sign of letting up.

I can't take the pain or pms anymore! And my tummy has been so swollen for almost 2 weeks now, I'm so uncomfortable! Has anyone else experienced this? I've only heard about people that may be late, or have a light period. Not this nightmare!

The IUD removal shouldn't affect your cycles at all, since this is a non hormonal IUD. Any chance you could have been pregnant or could be pregnant? I would almost suspect an early miscarriage. Have you taken a test?

Yes we are TTC, and because I was so late I thought I might be pg, but I took 2 tests that both said negative. I was going to test again later, but then af started. I know with my first 2 kids, I showed positive literally the day I was due, so I assumed I wasn't. And that's the frustrating part - that the non-hormonal IUD was not supposed to change anything. Well I guess there's no way to tell now hey? Just have to ride this out. Ug!

Hmm...I wouldn't think your cycle changes would be due to the IUD at all. Regardless, good luck TTC! Baby dust (:

i had the mirna iud and i never had a period so now i am trying to get my self on track because we are also ttc #3  good luck and baby dust to u

I had my copper coil out on 22/10/10 i have no period since the day it was taken out.  Have been trying for a baby since then had 5 tests negative and blood test at the doctors negative:(.  Why have i not had a period.  Was told everything would resume to normal!!!  Please help.
