Period while breastfeeding, after stopping breastfeeding period stopped too?

by hendrix4, Sep 04, 2008 01:44PM
I had my 2nd baby in January 08.  I got my first (heavy) period back in May.  Then the next one came 6 weeks later on June 30th.  I was still breastfeeding during both those.  I stopped breastfeeding my little girl about a 1 1/2 months ago, and still have not had a period!  It's been more than 2 months now since my last one, where is it?  I have taken pregnancy test, which all show negative.  The last one was 2 weeks ago, which was also negative.

I had my second baby also. I got my period while brestfeeding but now that i've stopped it hasen't shown and it's been almost two months. I took a pregnancy test and it's negative. I've never missed a period while not pregnant before. This didn't happen with my first. I guess my hormones are all out of wack. It's kinda nice to hear I'm not the only one. It sure freaks me out! If it doesn't come soon I'm testing again.

Hi there, the same has happened to me. I have been breastfeeding for a year, and having periods for 7 months. Have always been regular. Cut down breastfeeding from far too many per day and night, to just twice per day and my period is now over a week late. I also have had period pains since the end of my last one, and none of the usual signs of ovulating mid cycle. I've found a few discussions similar to this, so it's put my mind at rest that it must be hormones!
And I'm definitely not pregnant!!!
