I have a pretty bad pinched nerve that is around the left side of my back and left leg. Im just over 20 weeks and it has probaby been this way for about 2 months.  I would asume it is pretty normal in pregnancies, however I guess I cant rate your pain compared to mine. The doctor said there isnt really anything I can do besides trying to do some pregnancy excersises, and using a heat pad, which I have been doing for a while and has seemed to help! He also told me to try not to sleep on my bad side, because it will just cause more pressure and pain. I know how you feel so good luck! Let me know if your doctor gives you some advice that I havent been given yet!

I too had back pain for my WHOLE pregnancy.  I would love to tell you that it went away after delivering, but it didn't.  I am now going to have a MRI done to see what it is.  Ask your Dr. for a MRI, apparently they can do one when pregnant at certain times.  I was on Tylenol #3 my whole pregnancy, my baby is completely healthy and beautiful, however, she is CONSTANTLY CRYING, I think it is because of the codeine.  I have had two other babies, and neither were like her.  She is a real puker too, so if you can manage, stay clear of the codeine!  I tried Accupunture, and it seemed to help to control my pain as well during my pregnancy.  Best of Luck!

try a physical therapist who has experience with pregnant women. i saw one without this specialized experience in early pregnancy and had spotting a few days later... not worth it. but a good one could show you some stretches that may help alleviate the pain without medication.
