Please help! I'm 5 wks preg and was taking Plaquinel and Predisone

Hi, I'm new to this board, but see that there are alot of helpful people here! I just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant and I have been taking Plaquinel and Prednisone, along with baby aspirin for joint pain. When I found out, I stopped taking the Plaquenil and Prednisone. Course, I'm in alot of pain now, but my question is.....since I was taking those meds in the first 4 weeks of my pregnancy, will that harm my baby?? I appreciate your help! :)

Congratulations.

I don't think that it should have harmed your baby as it is still early on in the pregnancy.

Ask your doctor if there could have been a chance that this may have harmed your baby. But you should be fine.

I too have been on baby asprin from day one of pregnancy for joint pain. I have been taking it daily for 28wks. This is recommended by my ob and high risk dr. It actually helps prevent blood clots and a preventative for m/c. As far as predisone you are allowed to take through your pregnancy.

Do you have a connective tissue dissorder?

Thank you for the info! I will continue to take baby aspirin and a low dose of prednisone. I had a m/c in 2004, so hopefully the aspirin will help my chances this time of having a full term pregnancy. I don't have a diagnosis yet of what is causing my joint pain. My Rheumatologist just says that it could be the beginning stages of Arthritis and Lupus, but isn't for sure. I've had joint pain for about 8 months.
