Positive Antiocardiolipin IGM 8 weeks pregnant

by julian9104, Jun 08, 2007 12:00AM
I am currently 8 weeks pregnant. I found out through bloodwork that I'm positive (100+) for Anticardiolipin IGM. IGG IGA negative. I've had a molar pregnancy and a blighted ovum previously and gave birth to my son 3 years ago.

My OB/GYN was going to transfer my care to a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, but after she consulted with a Specialist she was told that being IGM positve doesn't adversely affect a normal pregnancy and I'm not considered high risk only IGG will put me at risk for blood clots/miscarriage.

My gut instinct is telling me that this is possibly mis-information. I'm hoping somebody out there could tell me if I'm right?

thanks

I also tested positive for IGM cardiolipin antibodies, it was found after I had 3 miscarriages when thrombophilia testing was done.  I was sent to a specialist and the next time I am pregnant I need to begin heparin therapy and a baby asprin daily.
