Possibility of no egg release with ovulation?

Possibility of no egg release with ovulation?

We have been trying to get pregnant now for 4 months.  We have never used birth control, in fact, we've been together for over 7 months and no pregnancy.

I've been charting when I am supposedly ovulating, and we try during that time, and on the day I am supposed to be most fertile.  But each month passes by without becoming pregnant.

Is it possible to have a monthly period and have no eggs released?

If you're BBT'ing correctly then that will confirm that you are ovulating.  Did you mean you are BBT charting when you said that you are charting?

If your periods are regular then there's really no reason to believe that you're not ovulating.  With only a 20-25% chance of conceiving each month, sometimes it does take a while.  After you'be been TTC for 1 year, you should see the doc.

Hope this helps!

I agree with Jjety.  If you are BBT charting then that should tell you if you are Oing.  It may just take some time.  It took DH & I 8 months and we were charting the whole time.  It's just not always that easy to get pregnant.

Yes, that was what I meant by charting.

Thanks for the replies.  It just can be so emotional.

I needed 6 mounth to get pregnant. We were bding almost every single day or at least 20 days in the mounth!!! I'm 23 and I thought I was pretty fertile ...I was desparate and almost sure I will never get pregnant whan the HPT showed positive.

I wouldn't worry!  My doctor said it takes a healthy couple 6 months to a year to conceive....so you aren't even to that earliest point yet. Conception is really a miracle.  My doctor suggested BD everyother day your entire cycle to have the best chance of conceiving (he must be a rabbit:-).  Just an idea to try if you are out of luck.  peeonastick.com also has some ideas for increasing fertility and fertile EWCM......
Good Luck!

As far as the 'amount of trying,' that's another problem.  "It" only happens maybe 6 times a month.  And if I am lucky, twice during that little "window of opportunity."

I bought an ovulation kit and will try that next month, providing I didn't get pregnant this last try.

TTC 1 year.  finally got in to see the fertility doctor.  he ultrasounded my uterus and ovaries on day 17.  i had a "very good-looking follicle about to pop".  it was odd to hear that because on day 12 my OPK was positive.  so it takes 5 days or more for the egg to be released?  Odd?  I go for blood work tomorrow to see if I have hormonal imbalances that's affecting my fertility.  My DH and I have been doing the BD every 2 days from day 8 to 16.  Our doctor says do it more often and longer.
