Possible 8 weeks pregnant, gestational sac appears too small 5 1/2 weeks

Whati if a person thinks she is 8 weeks along, gestational sac too small, measuring about 5 1/2 weeks.  Dr suspects ectopic since blood levels are too high and large ovarian cyst.  Any thoughts, suggestions.  Must wait for another round of blood tests to determine if level is rising or falling.

Unfortunately, you will have to rely on your doctors advice--the only thought I have is that it will all be made clear shortly by continued blood tests/ultrasounds,.

Watch for any pain or bleeding, and let your doctor know right away.  i'm sorry you are going through this.

From my own experience, it doesn't look good. with my third pg everything was going fine. I had no spotting or pain. When I went in for my 8wk check up they did a sono and the baby was only 6wks1day in size, but had a very strong heart beat. Since my dates were not wrong and the sac was 8wks in size, they told me to come back in in a week and have another sono done. By the time I went in the next week the baby had already died. It was still 6wks 1day in size and there was no heart beat. You said the sac measured 51/2wks, where is the sac located at? I would think if they can measure the sac then it is in the uterus. If it is then it can't be ectopic. I will pray that you will get throught this no matter the outcome.

How did this end for you? I am 8 weks, but all that can be seen is 2 very small gest, sacs measuring 4 mm each...
