Possible twin miscarriage?

Possible twin miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in February.    This was very difficult for me to cope with....

Then, just a couple of weeks ago, 2 weeks after my period, I found out that I was pregnant again.   I went to the doctor to confirm my pregnancy (since it was so early), and they told me I was indeed pregnant. They checked my HcG levels, and then two days later, checked them again. The levels were 1529, then they were 2088.   They did an ultrasound but could not find the baby (this was when I was about 3 weeks along, as far as I can tell). They said that's okay, because it's so early, they probably won't be able to see the baby till later anyway.  They also said that since it was so early, and the levels were so high, it was indicative of twins.  They also mentioned that I might be miscarrying?

I went home, and then, I started bleeding.   At first, it was only enough blood to get on the tissue when I wiped.  But after a while, it was like my period. I assumed, sadly, that I was miscarrying. The blood was dark red and slimy.   There were also clots in it, just small, pea sized clots.  Sorry if this is too much information.

Then, I had my HcG levels checked again a week later.    I called the doctor, expecting to hear that the levels had gone down dramatically, and instead, the doctor told me that the levels had gone up to 4,000!

If I had twins and miscarried one, would my levels not have dropped a little bit?

And could I possibly still have both twins, and yet have the bleeding I described?

Or is it possible that the levels hadn't gone down yet because my miscarriage wasn't complete, and I am actually not pregnant at all?

It's very difficult to know how I should feel when I don't know what's going on.

I hope someone can help..and thank you in advance for any information you can share.  If you need any more information, let me know.

you are saying that you miscarry in february and then have your period 2 weeks later, that makes you pregnant in 3 months, so now the doctor will absoluetly know if you are pregnant and how many babies you have, did you did an ultra sound after the one they told you that there is nothing?
i think you have 2 do another one at 11 weeks i had an ultra sound and it showed my baby, sorry for you going thru that, but i think you are prego? don't youn have any symptoms.

Hi there! I am really sorry you are having to go through this, I understand how you are feeling. Ok, drs usually see something such as a sac after your hcg levels reach 1000. If your first level was 1529 and then 2 days later it was 2088, that is not a normal rise. Your levels are supposed to double every 2-3 days. If they were to double it would be 3058. Anyway, did they say they were going to do another u/s? When was your last period? You then said that your levels were at 4000 a week later, they would have been 4000 2-3 days after your last blood test if they were normal. Your levels are slowly rising...did they look at your fallopian tubes for a possible ectopic? Are you having any sharp pains in your sides? I think you should go and demand another u/s to make sure you are not having an ectopic pregnancy. I am not a dr. by no means and I just dont want to get you upset, but your levels are not normally rising like a normal pregnancy would. Sometimes high hcg levels do not indicate twins, it could also mean you have a molar pregnancy...Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm sorry I didn't make it very clear...I'm bad about leaving out information sometimes.  I actually meant that 2 weeks after my period, which was on June the 4th.
Thank you for your kind words. :)

I am not having sharp pains, actually I'm having no pains at all.  No cramping or anything, just bleeding.  But I also noted that the levels weren't  rising well...and the doctor had made mention of that and I think that is why he suggested miscarriage.  I don't know...the doctor sounded so positive that I was pregnant after seeing the 4,000, but like you said, it doesn't seem like a normal rise. I think i will ask them for another ultrasound like you suggested. I don't know whether they will give me one or not though...it seems like they are not that helpful and it was enough of a struggle to get them to give me the levels over the phone.  Thank you so much for your help.

My concern also is that your lvls are not rising quickly enough. Your HCG lvls should double every 48-72hrs. Yours are not. Unfortunately good things usually don't come from that. I'm sorry you are going through this and having a hard time. It does however sound like you may be having another miscarriage. I'd ask for another u/s in a wk or so.

I miscarried a twin when I was pregnant with my oldest son.  My hcg never dropped.  My progesterone dropped significantly but then rose again.  My oldest son is now 2.5 years old.

Good luck!

I just miscarryed Twins.  I was 8 weeks and have been bleeding for a month. My HcG was going up, but I was bleeding really bad.  Then two day's ago I I was at walmart, and started bleeding all over. I went to the ER and they said I lost too much blood. Then I passed out and my BP went down to 52 over 27. I came to 6 min later to them about to put a tub in me.

Now not only feeling really sad over loosing my babies, I get to deal with no blood. My worse problem is that my husband is acting like nothing happen. I feel so sad. Anyone else go through this?

i lost a set of twins  ad had a d and c june 2010. the dic said to expect my period 4-6wks later but it never showed. i tested today 10/6/10 and got a positive. completely shocked me and now im wondering whats the odds of another set of twins, it was really hard losing those since we were completley amazed at the fact that we were having them. so my first visit won be for a few weeks so i guess ill keep my fingers, eyes, and toes crossed until then

I am so confused I was wondering when will I get my A/F after miscarrying twins at around 8 weeks I had a d&c done on the 21st of sept. and it is going on five weeks and I really couldn't relate to single pregnancies being that their hcg isn't as high as when pregnant with twins. I tested my hcg twice after the m/c and the second time the dr said it went back down to zero and I havent been tested since but I did a home test and it came up positive like a week ago but I only had unprotected sex once wondering what was going on is this normal or should I have had my a/f by now please respond to my post!!!!
