Pregnacy sac seen..no embryo and light pinckish spotting

i am sisx weeks pregnant i did an us and the sac was seen but noting else.I have abdominal pains at times and i have a pinkish spotting but it is not continiuos. the doc has put me on 8 day bed rest with a note to go to the hospital if the cramping and spotting get worst. i dont have any spotting now..but has this happen to anyone else. could my pregnancy be terminating itself?

If you are absolutely, entirely certain of your dates, in other words, 6 weeks ago it was the first day of your last period, it is possible it is just too early to see more than a sac.  (Some women ovulate a little late in their cycle, etc. etc. and there are just sometimes reasons that a woman will go in at 6 weeks and not see anything much, but then will see something in one more week.)  I think your doctor is being very careful to give you such a long bed rest -- my doc only has the woman stay in bed until 24 hours after bleeding stops.  But it isn't going to hurt you to stay down that long.  Drink a lot of water, and read some good gossip magazines.  :)  It does not sound like all is lost at this point.

Hello,  I am 5 weeks 3 days.  I went in today for an u/s as I had spotting.  They found 2 sacs and said that it is to early to see the heart beat.  I too am very nervous.  They said I could spot every day.  I did IVF.  I go back on the 9th of July for another u/s.  We are hoping to see 2 little heart beats that day.

Thats great 2 sac means twins...i dont know but things will be alright. i a 7 weeks now since my last US i have not done another yet so i still have not seen the baby...my doc seem not too nervous. but i wll see. all the best

Keep me posted on how you are doing and when you have your next u/s.  All my pregnancy symptoms keep coming and going.  Everything I am reading says that that is normal.  I've had 2 miscarriages so I'm very in tune with my bodies changes!  The spotting is very minimal now and not daily.  The 9th of July can't come soon enough for me!! Baby dust your way too!!
