Pregnancy Test

I took a First responce test this A.M. and it was negative. I know this question is asked all the time but, Is there anyway possiable that I could still be pregnant? I'm 3day's late and my breast are tender. I know that breast tender could be because I'm about to start, but is there the slidest chance I could still be pregnant?

I'm not sure how high the possibility would be for you to be preggo. But then again, you may not have enough HCG in you to pick up on a test. Have you thought about going in for a blood test????

I know from first hand experience that CVS (equate )brand is the most sensitive.  Try that one.  Keep us posted.

Could a blood test be wrong? I have taken two home test and they where both postive also I went into a health clinc the test that I took ended up being a neg/pos which the nurse said was really rare. I also took a blood test which was negative at the clinc. I ended up going to the doctor because I was throwing up blood and was slightly bleeding. The doctor checked me out saying I was fine but they couldn't tell me why I was throwing up and having severe abdormiable stomach pains. My boyfriends friends mom who is a nurse says it sounds like a utopia Pragnecy to her. I really need alittle advice

Thanks, I'll try the equate that is the kind I took when I found out I was pregnant with ds. I told DH to pick up a 5 doller wal-mart brand, men don't listen anyhow. If I don't start Af in the next week I'll get another test or even go to this clinc like thing we have here called the Hope Center, its a christian place for women who can't afford stuff for there babies and also gives free pregnancy tests. I'm sick of testing.

I have never heard of a blood test being wrong.  It can detect the minimal amount of HCG in your bloodstream very early.
As for a utpoia pregnancy, I have never heard of that so I can't offer any advice on that topic. Are you past due for AF?

I had a blood pregnancy test on day 29 of my cycle and it was at .50...definitley negative. Not even a week later it was positive. If it is early even if you have reg cycles you could have ovulated late and yes it could be wrong  in a sense. But it was also to early to pick it up.
Blood pregnancy tests are just as accurate now a days as home tests, but "should" be able to be used earlier. But not in my case. I have heard of this happening to quite a few others too.

Also. I agree with the other ladies. I took a preg test with one of those fancy $10 ones and it came back neg. I spent $4 bucks at wal-mart a few days later and it was pos! So go with the cheaper ones for some reason...They seem to work better!!

Take Care!!

I think she meant "ectopic".

"Utopia" is an ideal state, considered to be perfect.  It is a concept.

I want to be pregnant, but after the last few test saying negative I pretty much gave up hope. My husband is the one driveing it in my head that I'm pregnant. I really don't know if I think I am or not. Thanks for the feed back.

I also took 2 at home preg tests that came back pos and the doctors kept telling me that I was not preg.  My AF was 3 weeks late but they kept telling me I was not preg.  I went to the emergency room with abdominal pain and had emergency surgery for and ectopic pregnancy, I was 7 wks and 2 days and my baby had a heartbeat of 158.  So, to answer your question: there is still some sort of possibility that you could be pregnant.  I had also taken a HCG blood test that came back negative.

I'm confused on the ectopic Pregnancy, it don't sound good but what is it and is there any hope for the baby. That scares me, I also have been haveing some abdominal pain not bad but enough to be uncomfortable. If you or someone can inlightin me on what a ectopic pregnancy is that would be much appreciated.

Hi. An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that takes place in the tubes. It could be very harmful to you b/c it causes infection. But don't give up hope. It's likley that your just to early. I had a scare with this baby b/c when I went to the doc. they said that it may be an ectopic preg b/c my hcg levels were low. (the hcg levels are what confirms your preg) It's the horomone that let's you know. Anyhow. I went in three days later and my levels tripled. So just keep faith and defnitly go get a blood test they can detect preg VERY early. Don't be to upset if you don't see anything on the u/s either at first...I was going nuts b/c they had me at 5 weeks. I am now 6 weeks and went in today for another u/s and I could see the embryo starting to form so in one weeks time alot can happen. Try not to stress out...Take it from me.! It's not good for you or the lil' one your possibly makng inside of you! Take care and I'll pray for you and yours!

i have heard of a utopia pg. it is where your brain thinks for some reason that you are pg even though you are not. usually a blood test or u/s that shows you that you definately aren't pg will reverse it.
from what i hear it is really weird you actually start getting a tummy and m/s and stop having af and everything.
not real common though.

Of course if you have ovulated late then the HCG hormone will not be detected and I was assuming that selene84 is late for AF since she thinks she may be PG.
A qualitative blood test should pick if she is pregnant and would give her a positive or negative.  A quantitative blood test will give her a break down and specifics of the HCG level.  This is why doctors and even HPTs always say to wait till you are late to test so that there isn't an inconsistency with the results. HCG production increases starting a few days after the embryo implants in the wall of the uterus. This usually doesn't happen till you are close to get AF anyway thus if you are late, a blood test can help ease your mind.

With the issue on the eptopic pregnancy, since the PG is taking place in the fallopian tube, it is difficult to detect the HCG hormone due to the fact that it has not implanted into the uterine lining yet.  Most of the time, women do not know until it is too late and this is when they have internal bleeding.
