Pregnancy after a miscarriage

Pregnancy after a miscarriage

I had a natural miscarried on August 17th at 10.5 weeks. My docotor was watching my hCG level drop but called thursday and said they went up they were at 800. And to redraw them on monday. I got it done and he called back and said they were at 3400. At first he told me that it could be a non complete miscarriage. But then he said it looks to be like a normal pregnancy and to have an ultrasound on monday. I'm sure hope it is a normal pregnancy....

So he thinks you got pregnant again after your miscarriage?  Or that you never miscarried in the first place?  Sorry, I got a little confused on that.
Anyways, was it your first pregnancy?
I have 2 children, and I just had a miscarriage in July.  I was 5w6d along.  I am now 6w2d along, and I'm terrified that it's going to happen again!  My hcg level is much higher this time, at 7619, compared to 41 last time.
Good luck to you!

I had a miscarriage in April 2010, i was 12 weeks, and went for our u/s and there was a baby but no heartbeat, i am now again pregnant about 6 or 7 weeks and i've went for 2 u/s first one seeing just sac with a bright white circle (the ultrasound tech told us the whiter the better) and then a week later and saw my yolk sac, i went for my 3rd ultrasound thursday and there was still no baby (i'm about 6 weeks along now) my doctor said i'd pass the baby on my own or i could have another D&C, but i have no signs that i had with my first miscarriage, no bleeding no cramping, i'm terrified i'd hate to lose this baby as well...any advice?!

I would defiantly not have a D&C. You never know what might happen. Its still pretty early to see anything. Hang in there.

Yes I would recommend seeing another doctor and get a second oppinion. For sure I would like to know what you found out. With me I miscarried august 17th at 10.5 weeks and a week ago my hcg level was going up and doubleing. So we think that I am pregnant again. I go to the doctor today for an ultrasound. So keep me in your prayers! As I will do the same for all of you!

I started bleeding this past weekend, and so i'm guessing that was me miscarrying, so this will now be my 2nd miscarriage in the last 8 months =( the hardest thing we've ever had to go threw...i have a friend that had a miscarriage and a week later got pregnant and is due in January, people keep saying to give my body a break, but we waited 5 months to try again after our first miscarriage, and everyone i talk to that has had a baby after a miscarriage is right after they had their miscarriage....we're so confused on to why this keeps happening, we have a 3 year old, and it was a natural healthy pregnancy, he's a healthy active 3 year old...just all these questions that are almost impossible to get answers to =( i will for sure keep you in my prayers and if you could keep us in yours!!! Good luck and best of luck to you!!!

How heavy did you bleed? Did you cramp? I would sugest that you watch your hcg level go back to zero so that you know for sure that you did miscarry. It is hard to miscarry you get so excited once you see that positive pregnancy test. I would also go to a specialty doctor so that he can draw more labs see if that has anything to do with why it keeps happening. My friend had 2 miscarriages and now has a beautiful baby girl that is 7 months old. I think it was just a doc for high risk patients not for sure. Did you have your labs drawn to watch your hcg? Were they doubling like they were suppose to? Sorry so many questions. I go in today for my ultrasound it was suppose to be monday but my doctor had to go do a c-section.

I have had two m/c this year as well but I have 3 healthy children, I am pregnant again but only 6 weeks and am also scared to death, it is hard when you know you can have children and then have two m/c in a row, but I was told by my doctor that sometimes our bodies know if something is wrong with the pregnancy and passes it to prevent further complications but it also preparing for a healthy pregnancy so keep trying!  sometimes there just aren't any answers, they haven't been able to tell me why I lost my first two this year (one in April @ 12weeks and one in July @ 7weeks) but I am trying to stay positive for this pregnancy and will keep you in my prayers!

My bleeding wasn't as bad as my first miscarriage, but i'm still bleeding, its just like a normal period....i didn't cramp at all, but did have a few small clots...i choose the worst doctor probably ever, cuz she didn't even have me get my blood counts done (the first miscarriage i was in getting my blood done twice a week) def choosing a different doctor the next time!!! You could never ask to many questions, i have a million of them, just dont really no who to ask lol....do you happen to no which is better to try to get pregnant, the week before your period or the week after?!

I went in for my us today and it looks like I am 6 weeks pregnant. It is amazing to me that this could happen so quick. I miscarried 7 weeks ago when I was 10.5 weeks along. The ultrasound looked good. So we are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for a health pregnancy.

They say you ovulate around 14 days from the first day of your period.

I had a miscarriage (got a D&C on my sons 3rd birthday April 30th 2010) and then with just this one this last weekend, but when i went for my last ultrasound a week and half ago, there was no baby so they told me it wasn't considered a miscarriage cuz theres no baby in the sac (whatever they seem to think to us it was a miscarriage to us there was a baby and we lost it) def a hard year for the both of us, but i'm excited for you and wish you the best of luck on this pregnancy, as hard as i no it is try your hardest NOT to worry and just enjoy it (my boyfriend tells me your brain will do wonders, there are ladies out there that make themselves believe they are pregnant get all the symptoms and even the belly and they were never pregnant to begin with) so keep positive thoughts and take it as easy as possible =) i'll def keep you in my prayers & please keep us in your prayers as well!!!!

I would ask your doctor if you could have your blood tested for the hcg. And make sure it goes down to zero. Just a suggestion!

Thanks Jamie! He said to come back in 2-3 weeks whatever I could handle. I hope that I can just keep my mind busy so that I don't drive myself crazy and worry. He said it looks as I am due June 4th but we will get exact messurement on my next appointment. And go from there.

Don't give up! There are reason things happen.

Thanx for the encouragement and  "the third time is a charm" may have some truth to it after all, this pregnancy seems to be "sticking" and I have morning sickness which I didn't have too much of with the other two pregnancies, doctor says that is a good sign.  Do keep me updated on your situation, I only had one normal period after my last miscarriage before getting pregnant with this one so you might have a keeper sooner than you think!

KYIMP!

Thanks! We are excited and hope that it sticks too! I have a 3 year old son that I didn't get morning sickness with. The miscarriage I didn't either. But today I have been nauseated quiet a bit good sign RIGHT! LOL With me I never had a period inbetween miscarriage and getting pregnant again. CRAZY but everything happens for a reason. I will go back either the 20th or the 27th. Depending on how long I can wait. I just have to keep thinking there is nothing to worry about.

My life has been turned upside down for the second time in 3 months. I went to my 9 week appointment to just to make sure everything was going well. The appointment was fine until my Doc asked if I wanted to do an ultrasound to check and see how baby was doing. When he did the u/s there was no heartbeat.... I can't believe this is happening again. I want answers. Looks right now that I will be having a D/C hopefully soon. I do not want to drag this out and wait for it all to happen again.

Just a suggestion but before you have any type of help passing the baby insist on another u/s. I know a woman who went to ER only to find out her cramping was because she was pregnant. When doing the u/s she was showing to be around 8wks pregnant but the doc said the baby had no h/b so he told her to go to regular OB in 2 wks to make sure she passed the baby or to get help in doing so. Once there another u/s revealed a h/b and she is now 17wks pregnant. I dont want to give you false hope hun but just for peace of mind I would have everything checked one last time before making any decisions.

Yes I will be getting another ultrasound before we do a D&C. I will have it done today if there is still no heartbeat then we will do the D&C tomorrow. I have had some back pain but very minimal. No bleeding so we will see what the U/S says. Thanks!

I had a miscarriage on August 26/10 and managed to get pregnant again right away after. I miscarried again on Oct 31. I passed both naturally (which was so terribly painful). I am so frustrated. Does anyone have any experience with recurring miscarriages and possible hormonal imbalances? My doesn't want to run any tests. All she could say to tell me was to wait at least 1, preferably 2 cycles before getting pregnant again, but I don't want to!  She said maybe my uterus wasn't ready to be pregnant again. If that was the case, how would my body get pregnant again?  I know I am searching for answers and that there very well might not be an answer. I know how common miscarriages are, but this time seemed so different from the very beginning and ended at the exact same time (8 weeks).  Any similar situations out there? They say your most fertile time is 2 weeks after a miscarriage... I don't want wait 2 cycles, but I am also terrified to be pregnant again.

So happy to have found this forum. We need all the support we can get.

I had a miscarriage on august 17th and I also managed to get pregnant right away. I miscarried at 10.5 weeks but the baby measured 8w 6days. I went in for my 9 week appointment just a check up we did an ultrasound then and there was no heart beat baby measured 8w 4days. The first miscarriage I did at home. The second I had a D&C. For me I would really like another baby too. I want to get pregnant but at the same time I know that I can not deal with losing another baby. I am planning on waiting a few months for my body to recover and me to recover emotionally. I too want answers on why this happened twice and why they are not getting past a certain fetal age.
