Pregnancy after tubal ligation

Is it possible to fall pregnanat, at the age of 43, after 11 years tubal ligation.

Anything is possible, but I'd say the likelihood is slim to none especially after 11 years.

I'm 35 and had a tubal ligation 12 years ago and was shocked to find out last month that I am pregnant yet again,so I guess anything is possible...

Hi there, I have done quite a bit of research on this over the years, since hearing a friend found out she was pregnant. yes it is possible to fall pregnant after a tubal, but it is not common. the human body has an amazing way of fixing itself, either by mending itself over burns, clamps etc. in some cases the tubals were not done properly, but that tends to show itself sooner than later. infact youve got more chance of your tubal reparing itself over a longer period of time.

Tubals are not 100% safe, only 99ish, approxmately 1 in every 100 women fall pregnant after a tubal. might not sound much, but that is 100 women in every 1000 or 1000 women in ever 10000 so that is a lot if you think of it world wise.

of course, not all pregnancies after tubals are happy endings, many times the fertalised egg can implant outside the uterus. so that is somethign to be careful of, if you find out you are pregnant, you need to get seen by a doctor for an ultrasound asap.

I too am someone who regrets my tubal ligation. I only had mine 3 years ago. but did it for medical reasons. but theres still that little part of me that wishes nature would defy all odds. even though I know it woudlnt necessarily be a good outcome.
