Pregnancy and 2 yoke sacs

I am 6 weeks pregnant, and went to the hospital about 3 weeks ago for light spotting (which has stopped since then). they did all the normal tests including blood, pelvic, and internal and external ultrasounds. In the ultrasound they found 2 sacs, 1 with a yoke and 1 without, neither with a heartbeat. I guess my queation is, could this be normal? I'm really having no ther problems, and I have an ultrasound scheduled for monday (10/30) to verify the due date (they originally had thought I was a lot further along), and also, what is the possibility of twins, and is it normal to not have a yoke in the 1 sak because I was only 3 weeks at that point? Guess I'm just not sure what to think, and the doctors are very illusive, and not telling me anything, besides, "might" or "Maybe" kinds of things. I guess if there is in fact only 1 baby, I just want he/she to be healthy despite that other "empty" sac, and that's what I'm worried about.

congratulations!!! you are likely to have twins...and yes it is normal to not visualize yolk sac that early. good luck and keep us posted.

I'm just a little confused.  Why would they do an ultrasound if you are only 3 weeks?  You wouldnt have even missed your period yet.  But to answer your question.. yes it is very early and things to continue to develop in that second sac.

Pregnancy is usually counted from the first day of your last menstrual period.  Are you saying you are 6 weeks pregnant by that way of measuring?

The reason they did one so soon is because they thought that I was 10 weeks (based on my last period) but I was irregular because I was just getting off of DEPO, kind of a mixed up situation, but they have determined that I am not as far as they thought, thats why Im having another one done monday....hope that makes sense:)

how far along are you? i was 7w3d and they didnt see ANYTHING no yolk sac or fetal pole. now at 9w1d they saw the baby dancin around in the u/s and heard a heartbeat! just wait and be patient if its early... i know its hard, its your baby! but just hope and wait, thats pretty much all you can do!
