Pregnancy and Prevention

muk
I have got married couple of months back and i had sexual intercourse with my wife only after 20 days from the date of marriage, she used to have her periods between 25 to 30 days but the first period after marriage happened in the 19th day itself, the 2nd period now is taking about 30 days. i would like to know whether she is pregnant or not, if so we want to prevent it immediately. How should we go about? need to know whether my wife should take any capsules? since we are young we dont want to have a child now! Please help us out.

buy her a home pregnancy test. if it is positive there are doctors you can see and tell them your wishes. also if you don't wish to have a child, be more careful. there are so many methods of contraceptive available. you are too far past the option of her getting capsules. as previously stated that is the morning after pill and it has to be within 48 hours. whats left is an abortion.

another option to consider if she is pregnant and you do not wish to be parents is adoption. there are alot of families out there that would love to take care of your baby. good luck either way.

It's called protection, condoms, birth control pills, foams, and there are a number of other things like an IUD.  If you guys aren't ready, and aren't willing to be ready, at least be responsible.

I agree with the others.  It's a little late to try and prevent it if it has happened.  What I can tell you is that I got pregnant with my first son exactly one month from when I got married.  It was a total surprise as I was on the pill and taking it correctly, had been for quite awhile.  We thought we weren't ready yet either, but so thankful for the surprise.  Once the initial shock wore off we were thrilled.  We had talked about having kids though, we were going to wait another year or so and buy a house first.  Did it a little out of order, but we were fine and got into our new house just fine with a baby.  If you wait till you are ready, you may never have a baby, sometimes it really is a gift in disguise.  Good luck with whatever you do, and if she's not pregnant, I would recommend birth control ASAP so you don't have to worry about this each month.

Ovulation happens just about mid-cycle, or about 14-16 days after the start of the period. If you do not want her to be pregnant, I suggest you use condoms, or she takes a birth control pill. For now, if she is already pregnant, it is too late for a morning after pill. That has to be taken within 2 days of intercourse.
