Pregnancy+IUD

OK, My IUD is now 5 years old as of June and should have been taken out or replaced but I was told that it would be ok for up to 2 years more. I have no health insurance otherwise I would have had it removed or replaced.  It might be me but every since my IUD turned 5 my periods became heavier but still on time intil last month. Last month I was about a week late and it was pretty light not as heavy as previous months. Now for the month of Novemebr I have had no period at all and now it is December 1. I am having cramping in my lower left side and had lower back pain yesterday today I am mood swinging like crazy and was almost in tears. Not sure what is going on but for the entire 5 years my period has been consistant and light and then as I've said already just beginning with the 5 year anniversery did my periods decide to get heavy until October and now nothing for November.......I'd appreciate any input.....Thank You

I believe Planned Parenthood charges on a sliding scale.  You might be able to go there and get your IUD replaced.  Is it the kind that has a hormonal element?  Maybe that explains the change in your periods.

Yes, Annie Planned Parenthood does have a sliding scale and are the ones that told me it was good for up to another 2 years. Yes, I do have the IUD called Mirena my ObGyn thought it was the safest method for me because I do have a history of bloodclots.  Its all just strange though and I guess I wont know until I miss Decembers period......
