Pregnant while breastfeeding??

by jam78, Jan 10, 2008 08:50PM
I am breastfeeding my 10 week old son, who by the way doesn't like to sleep at night.  I started taking Camilla birth control on Dec. 7-07 and had a period 2 days later.  I waited a week to have sex and I have not had a period yet this month.  Do you have regular periods on this pill while breastfeeding?  I posted a similar question in another forum but just wondering if anyone can relate. Coould I be pregnant?

Your cycles might still be messed up from pregnancy.  I didnt get a period for 2 months then when I did it was longer than usual.  ALTHOUGH I did get pregnant while breatsfeeding but we were not using protection.

so you don't know if with this pill there will be regular periods? I was only taking the pill for seven days before having sex, which it says it's effective after that. but you are scaring me with saying you got pregnant while breastfeeding because alot of people seem to eventhough LAM is supposed to be effective bc!

I did not take b/c pills so I have no idea.  You should be ok.  I bet youre are worried since your baby is only 10 weeks!  I would freak out too.  Did you have long periods before?  Anyone can get preg while breastfeeding but the pill should have worked after a week?  I dont know can you look at their website?  I thought back in the day when I was on the pill it took a month to work?

I am freaking because I also have a 2 year old son!  I looked up Camilla bc pill and it says it should be effective after 7 days.  I just thought since I had a period on the 7th of Dec I thought I would have one in jan. but maybe it doesn't work like a regular pill because of the breastfeeding.  I don't know.  I do not want to take a test at all.  My husband would seriously go medevil on me.  These two boys are an absolute blessing but at the same time they drive us nuts!!!!

I am breastfeeding my 4 mos old son and I have not had a period yet.  It is normal not to have a period while breastfeeding until you start your baby on other foods.

I'm breastfeeding and have not had a period yet. My son is 6 months old. I'm not on any hormones though, just a copper IUD. My girlfriend is still breastfeeding her 10 month old daughter and got a period around 6 months and then hasn't had one again. She is not pregnant and is on no birth control due to her DH having a vasectomy. It's normal to have irregular or no periods when you're breastfeeding.
