Pregnant with twins and Baby B has cystic hygroma

I am a 31 y/o woman who is pregnant with twins.  We found out a few weeks ago that Baby B has a very large cystic hygroma.  The measurement is at 4.7.  I had CVS on both babies and so far the genetics has returned normal.  I will have a full report on 6/20/07. I have a 2 y/o child with mosaic turners and feel so blessed that so far these babies do not appear to have genetic abnormality.  The cystic hygoma I know is a problem in itself.  I want these babies.  They are in sperate placentas and appear to be faternal twins.  Does anyone know of any live births with CH?  I have been researching on my own and the prognosis seems poor.  I am a christian and have faith that God is in control.  He has already answered my prayers for normal genetics.  I want to know if cyst can be aspirated safely in utero so the baby has a greater chance of developing normally.  I will have telephone conference with doctor at Texas Childrens to discuss our options.  It is hard to except and I am concerned for the life of baby A.  A is a boy and B is a girl.  Ried and Ava.  My God is an awesome God and I have faith he can perform miracles.  I do not want to leave any stone unturned.  Please respond time is of the essence.  God Bless "my little Miracles".  a loving mother.

sorry i cant help with your question but really felt i had to say hello as i have a daughter who is mosaic turners, she is now 18 years old and doing so well in everything she put's her mind to. If i can be of any help with any turner questions for you i'm happy to help. Sonya x

One of my best friends daughter was born with this, she has had so many surgeries and has a trach and a feeding tube, but is happy, healthy. It's been a long battle but she is doing well.

Have you researched a lot of CH?  It seems very strongly correlated with Turner's - that caught my eye because your other child has mosaic Turner's.    I wonder if this baby might also have a mosaic,  and that's why Turner's wasn't discovered in the testing - because they tested normal cells?

I am a neonatal ICU nurse. The prognosis of your baby depends on the involvement & size of the cyst. I have seem some babies survive CH and others do not fair so well. Some cysts can be reduced with just aspiration & others need surgical intervention/removal, but always have the risk of growing back. Either way, it will be a long road. Your child can survive!!!!!  My daughter was born with Cystic Hygroma.  She had multiple cysts that grew rather large in her neck.  But with the help of a great doctor and OK-432 therapy she is just fine.  You would never know she had the disorder by looking at her.  She is a happy, healthy, and beautiful little girl.  The little scar she carries around on her neck is the only sign she had Cystic Hygroma and it shows she is a survivor.  I prayed day in and day out that my daughter would be okay and that she would be able to live a normal life.  God answered my prayers and he will answers your prayers too!!!!

I am 25 year old and when I was  3 month pregnant earlier this year, doctors suspected my baby with cystic hygroma because of high nuchal translucency(close to 5) but my CVS was normal.
And I am thrilled to say that my baby(8 pound 5 ounce) was born this July and he is perfectly healthy 4 month old now. I hope this news will provide you with much needed support and encouragement. I will pray for both Ried and Ava and I am sure they will be healthy and most beautiful new born.
