I don't know if it increases your chances, but it's always good to take them, especially for the folic acid that your baby needs to develop it's spine. Obviously you are TTC and aware of your cycle, but drs. always say to start prenatal vitamins if you're planning on getting pregnant because you never know when it will happen and a lot of the forming of the foetus already happens before many women know they are pregnant and a folic acid shortage could ruin it. You should get at least 400mcg a day, but there are prenatal vitamins with 800 as well, don't know if that's necessary, but I bought those anyway. Check with your doc and good luck to you!

you should be on prenatals for 3 months before trying

I agree with the above posters, especially about having folic acid three months before getting pregnant.  The problems that solves would come early in the pregnancy, so docs like you to be taking it even while ttc.  But don't be confused about what a prenatal is -- it's a vitamin.  A really comprehensive one, but just a vitamin, not a fertility drug (unless, of course, you were really lacking in vitamins and your body was so malnourished that the vitamin made you healthier in general.)  I'm always glad to take prenatals because they are a really in-depth vitamin and I don't know if I genuinely eat the healthiest diet.  Just don't confuse them with fertility drugs.
