i didn't get to hear my sons heartbeat until i was like 12 weeks. But the doc told me it was because i was "fluffy" lol who knows i am sure it does vary with each pregnancy i wouldn't worry though i am sure its normal to not being able to find a heartbeat as long as they do an u/s and find everything to be OK.
Hey girl! I didn't hear mine until yesterday, which made me 11 weeks 5 days. The Dr. said it may be hard to find because the baby is so tiny, but as soon as she put it on there we heard it kick, and then the heartbeat. She didn't tell me how many bmp it was though...and I forgot to ask! I think I'm gonna call up there on Monday and ask what she wrote because I'm curious. I'm assuming she would have told me if something was wrong. Anyway, I wouldn't worry too much for a few more weeks. I've heard of people not hearing anything via doppler til at least 12 weeks. I think it depends on the equipment too. Good luck Amber, and you're always in my prayers!
I was told at my 11 week appointment not to be upset if I didn't get to hear it b/c it can sometimes take up to 14 weeks with a dopplar. Thankfully we did hear it...but I think you're probably just too early. :)
I tried at 13 wks...no luck...but did an u/s and everyhting was fine. Then at 17 wks, we tried again, and there it was!!! It was beautiful. Dr. said that sometimes, the baby is just in a position where the heartbeat can't be found. At the earlier stages, there is still plenty of room and plenty of places to hide. I would ask my Dr. to do an u/s just for peace of mind. Happy Thanksgiving.
My doctor tried at 11 weeks and couldn't hear it. Tried again at 15 weeks and there it was loud and strong. I wouldn't worry about it. If your doctor was concerned they would've told you.
My doctor used the vaginal ultrasound in my early days...and didn't start using the doppler until I was around 12 weeks, I believe. I think it was just too early...
Amy
best wishes!
