Prog is 13.7 at around 5 weeks...is that low?

Hi!
I am around 5 weeks pregnant, and my hcg numbers are good..1st one was 169 and the 2nd wasa 414. but with the first my progesterone was 13.6. My dr. doesn't seem concerned. But I am due to a blighted ovum that I had in Jan. when my HCG was 13,000 but my prog. was 12.7...so, my question is..what are your thoughts with my current prog. number? Should I be worried that the preg. won't be viable?
He didn't suggest prog. supplements..
Thanks so much!

You know, my Dr. never really checked progesterone.  Due to several losses, he did put me on progesterone supplements as a precautionary measure, so I guess it wasn't necessary to check them?  Here is what I can tell you...your HCG levels are rising perfectly.  Also, having had a blighted ovum does not increase your chances of having a second.  Low progesterone is not typically the reason for a loss or blighted ovum.  They are fairly common unfortunately, and are usually due to something just not forming correctly at the time of conception. I have been there, so I know it's incredibly hard not to worry, so I won't even tell you not to do that.  Your going to.   I also believe your progesterone levels are fine, however when in doubt discuss it with your OB.  No such thing as a silly question, and there is nothing wrong with being your own advocate.  I wish you well and congrats on your pregnancy!!

Thank you so much. The normal levels for prog. are 9-47 at the lab. So, I know that I am on the low end. When I had the blighted ovum, I originally called my RE, and he said that at that pt. in my preg. it was just going to be what it is..I was like 7 weeks. So, I may give him a call..I appreciate you saying be my own advocate. I think that is the push I needed to call him. I don't want to overstep my OB, b/c this was a natural preg. as was the one in Jan. with the blighted ovum. I have 2 little girls from my RE.
Well, not "from my RE", but you know what I mean. LOL!
Thanks so much!
