Kate - my girlfriend's progesterone went from 19 to 12 in early pregnancy and she is carrying a healthy baby boy so far at 26 weeks. My other girlfriend's progesterone started at 5 and they boosted it with progesterone and she just delivered a baby girl three days ago. My friend works at an infertilityInfertility Infertility - resources Primary infertility clinic told me that (this is what happened to me) when your progesterone starts below 10 that is more alarming to them and usually the pregnancy has already failed. They like to see it in the teens, it seems like yours would be ok..it's good if they continue to watch it. both of my girlfriends had progesterone supplements to keep it where it should be. I hope the best for you!
Hi!! I am eight weeks pregnant and at 5 weeks my progesterone was 9.5 so they started me on weekly progesterone shots. After 3 shots they checked again and my progesterone had dropped to 7.2!! My hcg looks good though and the doctor doesn't seem too concerned. yours sounds alot better than mine. everything I have read says they like it to be at least 15 but will be ok with a 10. my next appointment is sept 9th and I am just praying we see or hear a heartbeatHeart palpitations Ultrasound, normal fetus - heartbeat Ultrasound, ventricular septal defect - heartbeat. Good luck!!!
I just wanted everyone to know what my dr. said about progesterone levels changing...
He said that they are in constant change, so they can vary from hour to hour. He drew me a little picture that looked like a heart montitor graph and explained that the progesterone levels are like the graph, one hour they can be really high, the next, very low.
He also said that as long as they are above 15 he doesn't worry about them at all.
Actually, I tend to disagree. I had a miscarriage @ 8 weeks. When I took my blood test, my progesterone level kind of dropped from my previews blood test a week and a half earlier. I had a chromosome analysis done and everything was normal on that. My doctor told me that my progesterone level was not sufficient and that next time I get pregnant, they will watch my HCG and progesterone level on a weekly basis on my first tri.
