Progesterone Levels

by kdm70, Dec 15, 2003 12:00AM
I am 8 weeks pregnant.  Two weeks ago my progesterone level was at 24 and HCG at 18,796.  Last week my HCG was 110,000, but my progesterone was 18.9.  Shouldn't the progesterone be going up versus down?

Your progesterone should be going up, however that number is still just fine. At 5 weeks my prog was 9.5 and they started me on weekly shots it then dropped down to 7.2 and eventually went back up to 8.5. I had read that a pregnancy couldn't be maintained with less tha 15 so I freaked for a long time. I am now 24 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy so it can be done with lower numbers. Good luck!! Your hcgs sound realy good so I wouldn't worry too much.  Those prog levels sound great...  But if you'e concerned, ask your dr.

Pregnancy progesterone levels
1st trimester 11.2 - 90.0 ng/mL
2nd trimester 25.6 - 89.4 ng/mL
3rd trimester 48.4 - 422.5 ng/mL

I found these progesterone levels on the web.  Hope this helps, momttc
